This is a discussion on Samsung D8000 or D7000?! within the Polls forums, part of the Off Topic category; I've been looking though reviews and stats etc but can't really find differences between the D7000 and the D8000. So ...

Samsung D8000 or D7000?!

I've been looking though reviews and stats etc but can't really find differences between the D7000 and the D8000. So thought I'd set up a poll to get your opinions!

I don't want to go more expensive than these 2 TVs, which are expensive enough as it is! I've been doing plenty of digging and have so far found the D7000 for £1115 and the D8000 for £1209.93

These packages include:
  • Samsung 40" TV (HD/3D/Internet etc)
  • BluRay Player
  • Extra pair of 3D Glasses

The best deal I have found includes all of the above at those prices with free delivery at Beyondtv.co.uk

The Question is... what is the difference between the 2, and is it really worth going for the D8000 if the D7000 is just as good?!!

Thanks all in advance for your votes and comments

HAHA, I know I know! I really want to commit to one... but living at home still means I keep putting it off. Plus I keep finding better ones and trying to get a few extra refs!!

So this is it... I WILL be getting either the D7000 or the D8000... don't know when, but I will!

On 47 refs at the moment so not too many to get for the 56 of the D7000!

Doesn't look like much of a difference except the d8000 has freeview hd playback and the d7000 doesn't. The d8000 consumes less power, and is grey where as the d7000 is black and looks slightly different.

To be honest there doesn't look like much of a difference to me.

To help you compare yourself, visit these two links on samsung's website and click compare for them both then look at the differences:

Also here are some prices for you to look at:

Sorry for Double post... but just read a review that distinguishes these two sets with the following...

Quote:
D8000 Series – LED
At the pinnacle of Samsung's 2011 output is this D8000 Series, a 3D LED-backlit LCD with 200Hz scanning and 'micro dimming plus' (a featue that tries to ape local dimming without the need for a proper – and fatter – Full LED array), Bluetooth (so lighter) 3D glasses, compatibility with that classy TwinView remote (which doesn't launch until July), 5mm brushed metal frame, integrated 'Quad Stand', built-in WiFi, Smart Hub, DLNA and Samsung's own 'one foot' connection tech.

D7000 Series – LED
There's no TwinView remote or 'micro dimming plus', but Samsung's D7000 Series is otherwise identical to the D8000 Series in terms of features. That 5mm-slim bezel remains, though here the Crystal Design of flatscreen folklore returns to inject deep red colour into the edge of the bezel, and lends a uniquely Samsung look.
Don't think there's much in it! Unless I get a big boost in greens I think I'll be going for the D7000!

Wow! You started a poll to get reviews, and in the end, you decide yourself! Cool! Anyways, I dunno what TwinView remote is, but it sounds kinda future-proof...

Still interested in peoples opinions.

The duel view remote is a touch screen remote that also shows what's on the tv when you walk out the room, so you don't miss anything. A cool gadget, but not essential!
