Orange by default. It's the only one that has a signal in our area.

Re: Which mobile network do you prefer??

Orange used to be amazing - but since their takeover by that French company (forgot its name) they have seriously gone downhill

Their reception, as far as I am aware, is perhaps the best in the country - but their current tariffs aren't - I think they are even planning to charge 1p for delivery reports(!).

3 are crudders. Their reception is by far the worse and I'm not a fan of their phones.

I have a few mixed feelings about Vodafone and O2. The friends I know who have them as their network have so-so reception. However Voda's STC (Stop The Clock) option is v v decent - it only charges for the first 3 mins to any network. The rest (upto 60mins at a time) is free.

O2 offers some decent tariffs and their retention deals (i.e. once you finished the contract, they offer you an incentive deal to persuade you to stay on. The best I've heard is something like £15 for 500 mins and 300 texts (no cashback as well!).

IMO, the best out there atm is T-Mobile. Their reception is a lot better - makes a change from the crappy One2One days. Their Flext Tariffs are v decent too. I managed to get a decent retention deal with 900mins + unlimited GPRS internet for £19 per month (no cashback redemption business either) - easily the best tariff I've had. Customer service is decent too.

Risking sounding like a T-Mobile salesman again, but so do T-Mob. In fact, O2 and T-Mob are now the major networks getting them first. The T-Mobile equivalent of the C600 is the SDA II I think. O2 and T-Mobile have some decent GPRS tariffs too. Reading around the mobile forums, it seems that Orange customers are just treating their customers like trash - a major change from how they were before when they were arguably the best.

Re: Which mobile network do you prefer??

aye, after that post i saw that o2 added their c600 spec phone to their range, and it comes with wifi

I still get a better than average deal from orange though due to a cock up they made in the past

Virgin Pay as you go.

Been with then since August 2004 and not had any problems.

I do have lots of other SIMs though so it's easy to change it I need to.

Re: Which mobile network do you prefer??

arghhhhh just got my orange bill! dad's going to kill me. I don't think I went over, bought the contract from one of those e2save places and they said I get 300minutes during the week and 3000minutes during the weekend and they keep charging me extra, don't know what for! Going to ring them and pester them!! Also all big companies always ask to talk to billpayer, I find that soo annoying because my name is on the bill (as the main phone user) but they still ask to talk to bill payer!! sooo time wasting!! Can't even end my contract because I payed a £300 deposit for my handsets and I won't get that back if I'm not with orange when they're supposed to give it back!
