Depends on how you use it... I'm into design and video editing and I'm not a big gamer, so I go for the mac hands down.

I second that.

I like the design of Macs and the OSX, but they are a bit overpriced, so I'm saying PC

Apparently Linux is great for coders.

And it's also in a lot of cheap notebooks (sub £200) so it has it's uses.

I love my mac, its got through the year before my degree, the 3 years of my degree and now my postgrad....still running like a charm! Was soo useful for my course so for me its Macs all the way!

I do miss gaming, but then i have a Wii for that, the only thing i really miss is CandC type games, and they are available for mac...at a price!

However, if you don't NEED one i say its a waste of a good Mac.

It's like giving a kitten a satnav...

You just shouldn't do it.

Mac for me ... i used the 3 OS and i think that the mac is really better for me

for me :

1st - Mac OS : very useful and nice .. for video ,photoshop , internet
2nd - Linux : helped me a lot in coding (and initiation to coding with it is very easy)
3rd - Windows : used to make me mad

this debate seem to occur on a montly basis

I went for a PC because i think they have the best compatibility and the widest range of software. plus you can easily mod your pc to suit your own needs.

Ignorant much? It's the combinaion of hardware and Mac OS that
makes it (the compatibility of the machine, the way it's put together to work properly )

I wouldn't say they are a rip off, some of the progs are more well designed for what they do best and handle the OS a lot better than any windows system ever could.

though saying that id never have a Mac as everything I do on a pc cant be emulated on a mac and wouldn't have one just to use the duel boot.

my current pc is Phenom quad core 3ghz with 8GB ram 1Gig graphics card running windows 7 64Bit and has never been more stable.

also cost me £280 to build try that with a mac :P

Exactly. I'd pay £1500 for a MacBook Pro (planing to do this soon) then get a PIC the same spec. Ultimately it's what you want to do on it. But for my needs Mac suits me a lot more as the whole OS is so much nicer plus they do look so much nice than most PCs which are generally ugly kit! I want ease of use and some mac only software, hence why i have the mac. PCs are slow for me and take too much time and way more complex than what i need. Only thing i would want from a PC is the live messenger PCs have. Apart from that Mac > PC in everything it does for me.

I'm going for mac, been lucky enough to own one even though they are overpriced, like iPhone's in my opinion lol

I've not used Windows Vista or Windows 7, the latest one i've used is Windows Xp but comparing Windows xp and Mac OS X 10.5.1 (I think that's what I've got) mac is better, just easier to use, faster, more realiable and the one thing that really annoys me about Windows PC's is they seem to crash a lot, and have annoying little pop ups and reminders.

To sum up my opinion: Mac can do everything that windows can do yet better. It is much more stable, is highly customizable, very fast, has excellent software, and with the use of Parallels and Boot Camp it can run any windows software.

It is a beautiful OS and machine, and the support is amazing.

Yes, they are pricey, but you get what you pay for!

:cough: i'mverybiased :cough:

Here's a link to a good article:Why Professionals Use Mac
