Do you treat yourself at christmas

I realised today that coming up to christmas I tend to treat myself more than I do the rest of the year. I'll impulse buy things I want whereas during the rest of the year I tend to debate for days over whether I really need something and will use it, trying to justify spending the money.

Do you treat yourself at christmas?

I used to when I was single, but now I tend not to in case my wife gets me the same thing for Christmas, which has happened before.

I seem to spend all year getting things for the family and house but at Xmas I like to get myself a little something for myself either as a freebie or from vouchers. A kind of reward, lol.

I know what you mean. I normally debate stuff for ages, and factor in that my girlfriend would kill me if I bought nice things for me and not her! Especially as I spend the whole year complaining how I don't have any money and generally being tight!

But over christmas I've been more implusive: I was looking for Theatre tickets for my girlfriends birthday... then ended up buying JLS tickets for Dec 2010... only cost £60 for 2 but some peoples are selling for £250!!! Bit of an investment, but I daren't tell her for now!

I don't usually treat myself, it's far more fun watching everyone open their pressies.

...but this year is different...after far too long debating, I've finally ordered a flatscreen TV, due to come on 22nd December. I'm like a kid waiting for santa.

Speak for yourself

As for me, I like to get nice presents for my friends and family, but as a 15 year old student living with my parents, pretty much all the other money I get goes towards things for me

I don't usually but, as like everyone else, this is proving to be a selfish year!

Just bought myself a hat, gloves and socks for my holiday in jan.

Still not got my family anything but after the exams I'll get on that (assuming there isn't anything worth giving in the sack of crap!)

Why is Santa's sack so full....because he only comes once a year.

I will be treating myself this year. I've got a bit of money saved up,and have saved a bundle on christmas gifts by using some amazon vouchers I got earlier this year courtesy of freepay. hoping to get myself a nice guitar after xmas

Nope. In fact, I tell others not to spend their money buying me gifts. I rather watch them open presents as well.

Although it depends on the person and the gift. Watching someone open something they aren't expecting is fun.

I don't usually, although I'd like to get enough greens to have the money for a full 18 month phone contract (so it's all there for my peace of mind). Hoping to get enough referrals before Christmas!
