Should eXceem have an SEO section?

Do you think eXceem should have an SEO section in eXceem eXtra?

I think this is a very good idea, there are a lot of people very good at seo on here, and while they might feel that it is giving away trade secrets, I feel that it would add something to the community spirit lacking lately!!

I also feel that Jon should allow a single webpage per user!!

Yup! If there was an SEO section on here I wouldn't have had to put in loads of worthless hours trying something that wasn't going to work!

I've always tried to help out anyone who's asked for specific tips within my limited knowledge. The subject matter is huge and very vague though, enough to devote whole forum to, not just a section.

The obvious problem with giving away key ideas or tactics is that we are all fighting for a big slice of the same first page/top spot pie. What worries me more though is that some people would take ideas and batter them to death, rather than take a sensible approach.

I think its more general advice, reccomended plugins, websites, etc etc etc...

General advice on SEO.....backlinks....lots of them and from the higher the PR pages the better. Relevancy not so key in my view but anchor text is.

Not eveyone will agree with that but I have seen specific examples of sites ranking without any content at all. Let's face it, my static html pages aren't content rich, the key is backlinks. Get a few very high PR backlinks with the right anchors and you will see a difference.

That's the easy part, the harder bit is finding methods/places to get those backlinks!

eXceem should host one website page for each member who wants it. So you can have a 1 page website hosted by eXceem.

But surely this would be a massive drain of bandwidth? Wouldn't it make sense for people to host sites elsewhere for free like they do already like 000webhost etc?

I don't know if it would be that useful. It would have to be kept up to date with the latest trends. Maybe a SEO blog section would be more useful, or just use the information section to add some SEO guides?
