I would most likely keep it, if it was a friend or something I would give it back but not to a normal shop

Pocket it, walk away and pretend the person took a fancy to you?

I bought a sausage roll for like £2.50 and the quite seemed to quite obviously get 3 £5 notes out to give me for change. I haven't seen him since so suspect that he just hated working there lol

I've only ever had the one person give me more change, but would probably say if you realised there and then to point it out. I have been in more situations where I have been given like £10 less change.

I'm not sure what I'd do I've got quite a bad conscience when it comes to money.

Best thing that ever happened to me was when I went to the chippers for my school dinner and ordered burger and chips.

Stood for a while and then the woman gave it to me and I walked out.
Crossed the road and then heard the woman screaming after me and then I realised I hadn't paid.
I was all set to apologise to her until she came over and said you forgot your change.

Handed me like £3 or something.

I kept quiet.

That happened to me as well...

When i was 5 or 6 i went to my local corner shop by myself because my mum was ill and i had to buy some stuff...

I just walked out with a bag full of groceries without paying and the shopkeeper didn't say a thing

Obviously my mum made me to go back there later and pay for it

Hmmm....I'm a terribly guilty person (most of the time ) so I would give it back. I wish I could take it, but my righteous side always wins!! Grr

id give it back. id be too worried the person will get into big trouble with their boss and may even need to repay it.

this reminds me tho of a time when i was friends with the girl who worked in my local petrol station. she used to steal food, magazines and tons of cigarettes from there and even invited her friends to join her on shifts.
so id go over and skate around the shop grabbing loads of crisps and pop and other stuff and then go in the back room behind the counter and eat and smoke etc.. We used to smoke the wacky stuff there too through a bong she took to work, lol. Tokin away listening to her serve the odd customer. Good old days. I didnt buy a single pack of fags the whole time she worked there haha.

At the time practically all of the employees did the same, and most of them got fired eventually and i think one got prosecuted but he was apparently in trouble with the police for something else too so that may have had something to do with it. But my friend got away scot free lol.

well... I am normally an honest person, but even I have my limits!!!

It would all depend upon the circumstances, and whether or not it was somewhere I go to on a regular basis!!

I'd have to tell them, I'd feel much too guilty. Similar things have happened to me in the past, although on much smaller scales. When I was young, in the bakery near where I used to live I got over-changed after buying a sandwich, realised went back inside and gave the woman who served me the difference back. She gave me a free bun to say thank you and often gave me lollies when she saw me (I was a kid, and she actually didn't live too far from me.)

Once bought a newspaper too, but picked two off the counter... realised when i got back to the car and had to run back to return the second one. Just felt way too guilty.

Meh, I guess I'm too soft... but then, the bun and lollies prove karma works! :P

I think it would depend on which shop and how you had been treated. I would always give it back in an independant family run business or the local pub but if it was a big store where the customer service isn't that good I might just take it as a good will gesture from them...lol
