Edinburgh is very aesthetically pleasing but has a serious identity crisis. Walk down the street and guaranteed you'll see Scotland flags hanging from every doorway and bagpipe music blaring out of every shop! It tries to hard.

People aren't friendly either, Glasweigans are much friendlier Generalisation of course! I have good friends from both cities.

I dont live in either but used to have to visit both regular in my last job, glasgow seemed very rundown and the people I met had a very dif outlook on life as opposed to those in edinburgh.
im sure glagow is prob a nice place, but from my experience of it is how i came to the above post. again just my opinion and not a slate of the people who live there.

I have family that come from both edinburgh and galsgow and have stayed in both places many times and i have to admit i preferred being in edinburgh, glasgow was always more hectic and the people there more aggressive and generally less friendly compared to those in edinburgh.

Each to their own

I've found Edinburgh to be one of the unfriendliest places I've ever been!

But then it's all down to individual experiences

Totally depends where you are in glasgow. As with edinburgh.

The actual city of edinburgh is very nice, but it's pretty small and once you're out of the actual city part I don't think it's nice at all.

Also, my friend lived 20 years in glasgow never getting into bother, moved to edinburgh and has got jumped a few times.

In my opinion, edinburgh is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

But back on topic, go to edinburgh rather than a laptop.

Aw come on, you can get a girlfriend any time you want (especially in edinburgh, buy any girl a drink in subway west end and you're in) but a macbook pro is a once in a lifetime opportunity
