Yep, was in Landan yesterday and they have quite a lot of St George's day stuff in the pub windows etc. Then caught the back end of my Weds night quiz when I got home, and it was a St George's Day quiz in honour of today!

St Patricks still seems to be the more heavily celebrated here to me tho.

I knew it was St Georges day and when I used to run a pub I used to wish it was a public holiday to push the profits up.

I believe it should be a public holiday as St Patrick's is in Ireland

It's silly how more people celebrate st.paddy's day rather than st.georges!

I had no idea btw! I think it's coz im at uni revising rather than with my home mates with a pint in hand!

Sorry i probably shouldnt have voted as im welsh.
I shdnt be expected to know.

And the only reason ppl celebrate paddys day more (and that applies to all of uk not just england) is because ppl use it as an excuse to get wasted. Its huge in america too.

i know st davids day (wales) and paddys day, but i dont know george's and dont even know who the patron saint of scotland is (sorry scots i wish i did but i have to be honest)

Edit: ...is it St Andrew?

Edit2: Oh and did u know that St George is also the patron saint of herpes?

I wish I could celebrate it but not really sure what to do. I'm in the heart of Bavaria and don't think it's too popoular round here Saying that there's an Irish Pub around the corner so I might pop in later and see if they've got anything on for St George's day.

I was only thinking that because a lot of the english people around here go the irish pub, will see if there's anything happening in the town later.

I was thinking more along the lines of St Boris Johnson... his miracle being possibly the most useless man in the world
hard to do when graham norton is still alive
