![]() ![]() | Do I stay in UNI? Read b4 u vote.Ok so I took a friend to his halls in Swansea Uni, and it looks totaly awsome. Now theres still time to move in halls as there are still places. However, do I stay at home and keep 5k, or do I waste 3k and live in halls. Also I have a girlfriend who is not to happy about it? Its a tricky one. Please help. Plus I dont drink much so that part doesnt bother me, I wouldnt really miss tht part.

![]() | Re: Do I stay in UNI? Read b4 u vote. Its a tough choice my friend. I'm goin to glamorgan uni and commuting because its only 30mins away and will save me 3k. The only reason to get accomodation would be the social aspect and to make new friens and to me thats not worth 3k. I'm getting a flat with my current mates and girlfriends in my 2nd year. You could consider the same. |

![]() | Re: Do I stay in UNI? Read b4 u vote.Without a doubt, stay in halls. I'm about to go into my second year (eek!), and 1st year of uni in halls is the best year of most people's lives. There's nothing quite like just sitting on the grass with your mates and having a bbq, then going back to halls and watching a film, or whatever. Not only that, but it's also great for social skills, and teaches you the first few steps of being a fully independent adult; cooking, cleaning (or not, as the case may be), managing your time more efficiently and so much more.

Like Dedodido said there's nothing like sitting out on the grass with a bbq and some drink in the sun and just hanging out with the mates you'll make there. And I agree with Jon, the social skills you'll gain from it is well worth the money. Even for £10,000 I wouldn't change a thing. You should definately stay at halls...

![]() | Re: Do I stay in UNI? Read b4 u vote.2 words that make not moving seem a good option: CREDIT CRUNCH! haha. im with all these guys on the social aspect, but I voted no because i dont think its the be all and end all of having a good time at uni. Especially as you say you dont drink, I'm the same, and I hated my short time living in halls as a result of all the goons who are just in it for the pi$$ up. But if youve got a few friends there it might be a good option, just don't worry so much about it because whatever you pick you'll have a good time at uni either way!
