Do I brag or not?

Hi, am just about finished re-vamping my site and wanted an honest opinion. I'm doing an "about me" page but don't really know whether I should be boasting about how much I've got or if that would be a turn off.

Is it better to brag about what I've got, in the hope that any visitors will read it and maybe stay longer on my site, reading the other pages and then hopefully signing up.

Or, will this just make them think it's a lie and make them click off the site to somewhere else?

So, basically if you were interested in getting a freebie, would this info interest you or deter you? Please vote.

Yes, but having never seen an incentive site, or heard of one before, may make his amount received seem out of this world.

ive put no but i think you should brag a bit just not about the total cus it sounds too good to be true and would make me think it was a scam tbh .
i usually tell people i have got an ipod and a wii which sounds more acheiveable.

I'd say you definitely should brag but put alot of proof you're telling the truth. It can be motivating for me and im sure others to try hard seeing by what we could possibly achieve.

tbh with the amount of freebies you've received I would think you were lying.

You would need to find some way to explain how you can keep getting so many greens without giving your method.

As most people are saying, do some bragging but not too much. Most people are sceptical of these "proof" things anyway so you don't want to overdo it.

i voted brag but agree, that if i didn't know about the freebie scene I'd think you were telling porkies!

Just put a few pics up and say you've received loads of free stuff - no need to specify how much hehe

I agree with comments made. A lump sum figure sounds unbelievable and a tad scammy. While we all know it's true .. it might appear like a 'get rich quick' scheme and put people off reading further.

Photos and screenshots of bank transfers I think is the best way to go. They can work out for themselves your running total.

Or, actually an inventory of what you've got when and from where maybe ... like Dec 0'6 £580 Transfer from *site*, Dec '06 3 x ipod shuffles from *site* .... etc etc ............. if you work on different sites that might be a good way of categorising and explaining how you've managed to get so much stuff simultaneously when people are only allowed one account at each site. Plus, if you've had a lot from one particular site then people might be more inclined to sign up to that one.

I agree with Ash - brag to much, and you will make it seam to good to be true, just say you have had one console and a ipod, and your working towards something big or something

Personally, I would say somehting along the lines of "I have received a lot of free stuff" and provide a few examples of what you have,

you need to specify some small easy to get items, some medium items like consoles and larger items like tv's .

This covers all bases and all types of potential freebie hunters.

Maybe do a seperate page with an inventory of everything you have received and put a link on your about me page saying if you would like to see my complete list then click here...

The reason I asked here was because I wanted your opinions, and now I have some, it's changing the way I was thinking and can see where everyone is coming from (which is a first) lol.

reading between the lines it seems the best thing to do (maybe) is say I've received items without going OTT, perhaps a search link to any thread I've started in the "i got my free item" section and leaving it up to the visitor whether they want to search or not?

I see it clearer now the wise members have spoken, cheers

Sounds good, I found here through someones freebie site and beleived from about 3 pictures, much more than that an I probably wouldn't have beleived it

And definately have a few pictures on the site without having to click a link, but have links to the I got my free items threads as well. Maybe just link the pictures lol

You could maybe have a changing blog like page with updates of what you have received, so like the last 5 or 6 items...keep changing that I'm thinking!
