PS3 or Xbox 360? Cant decide.......

Ok, I'm going to get a new console either a PS3 or Xbox 360. Problem is I can't decide which one, I've heard good things about both of them. So if you could let me know what one you think is best and leave me a wee comment with your reasons.

360, reasons:

#Games - huge cataogue! Lots of brilliant exclusives, only losing out on GT from the ps3 atm.
#Xbox live
#Controller - nice to handle, good triggers (anyone see the ps3 addons to achieve the same thing? lol), vibration out of the box, nice long battery life.
#HD DVD - ok, might not be a good reason for some since it is technically a dead format. But personally i think its a really cheap way into HD, just pick up a cheap player for under £20 and then just lap up the cheap HD DVD titles.
#Cheaper, if your buying price/value is always a consideration.

Downsides are that it is quite loud, but getting better and that the PS3 has built in blu ray and is the cheapest future blu ray player option. Oh and built in wifi might have been good, but not a deal breaker!

You also forgot that another downside is that almost all of them break

Ps3.

Quiet, modern looking, built in wifi, free online, very powerful, massive exclusives (gt5, mgs4, ff13) built in hdmi, tilt controllers, psn store (dl demos, psp and ps1 games, and homebrew games which are far more substantial than xbla) bluray (as already mentioned) can hold upto 50gig of data, eg. mgs4, can partial or fully install games on hdd for faster loading times.

Downsides, gets dusty quickly, mildly expensive, loading times can be abit long.

I have a 360 too, and for much longer, it shares many of the ps3 pros, but the ps3 tips it with its own pros

There are quite a few threads about this discussion.

I voted for the PS3, because it can do more. Even though it's more expensive, you'd be paying less if you compare the specifications.

PS3:
*Blu-Ray
*Sixaxis
*You can install linux easily
*Quieter
*Built in wifi
*Replace HDD without voiding warranty
*PS3 HOME (coming soon)

Xbox:
*Much better online gaming at the moment
*LOUD fan!

xbox 360 - wireless bridge £69.99 + Xbox Live Gold £39.99

and thats only 12 months subscription to the gold membership, you have to pay that every year over and over again

thats an extra £110

I'd go 360 just for the beauty of the online play. There's lots of competent players, as opposed to newbie trash, and you'll always have a good game.

PS3 seems to have a lot of fanboys, but a mate of mine just converted from PS3 to 360 purely due to the sh*tty online play of the PS3!

No you don't have to pay for online play with PS3... but my router is like half a metre away from my XBox, so I just plug it straight in and bought a 12 months subs off eBay for £27

You seen that program that's being developed for PC and Webcam? You can use any house hold items to play games with it. So you'll be able to take that cricket bat out your arse and use that on games
