Re: Exceem General Election

tbh I'm not sure I support anyone enough to vote for them atm. They all seem as bad as each other!!

Can we have an "I wouldn't vote" option added?

Re: Exceem General Election

i think that Brown is a comlete egotist who has been waiting 10years for the job and really messing it up
he has not got the charisma of Blair or Cameron
Conservatives for office

if u watch PMQ's, you will get a good insight into the capabilities of Mr Brown

Re: Exceem General Election

The Tories, imo, will always be the same. Not aiming themselves at the working class, catering for the toffs in society. Always has been the way, always will be the way. I also think David Cameron spends too much time on his soapbox brining down the current Labour government and making funny quotes than actually making proposals to draw in voters. Throw in his ludicrous "Hug a Hoodie" campaign among others and you can see that that government would be just as shambolic as Labour's currently is.

As a sidenote, I do not agree with all the critisism of Brown. First of all, as councellor of the exquecher, tried his damndest for 10 years to keep the working class families taxes down. Since he has vacated his post, have a look at fuel prices, mortgage rates, alcohol prices. Admittedly, not all were within the control of the government but you can't deny that this bad news has begun since Brown left the spot of councellor of the exquecher.

Also, the guy has been given a hefty rap as PM already. In just his first week in office, he had to deal with a terrorist attack on Glasgow Airport. Trusting Tony with his open arm gestures and cheesy white grin only had one incident of that scale and that was the 7/7 attacks. Brown reacted admirably under such pressure and wasn't given nearly as much praise as he deserved. Such scandals as various CD's going missing could EASILY have happened under a Cameron or a Clegg and probably did happen under Blair but it was Brown who caught it in the neck, despite it quite clearly being soneone else's fault. The same with the credit crunch which subsequently sparked the Northern Rock collapse, caused by foolhardy American bankers who lent massive mortgages to people who were blatantly never going to pay them back. Northern Rock's policy of borrowing short to lend long (often quited as "the" no-no of money lending by bankers) also resulted in it's cataclysmic capitulation. Even the furore over Labour's fundraising was Brown's fault, even tough it wasn't a patch on that of John Major's Tory government of yesteryear.

Cue flaming point but I believe the lack of support for him is because he is Scottish. I live in England atm and watched the 2007 Rugby World Cup Final in a pub. I was actually appaulled to hear someone scream at the top of their voice "You Scottish Bastard" when Brown appeared on TV, representing ENGLAND singing the ENGLISH national anthem as the BRITISH Prime Minister. This moron was obviously the stereotypical rugby player so I'll comment no longer on that non-entity but that sentiment seemed to co-incide with the stick he has taken in the press.

Rant over really, just think that people should really think before they vote for the man with the best hair and smoothest talker. Tony "Bull****" Blair wasn't the hero that hindsight makes him out to be....

And after all that, I voted SNP.
