Thanks Tom, sorry about that. Could you please delete the other two threads? For some reason it wouldn't let me post the new thread and and one point I couldn't get onto exceem for a couple of minutes. It just timed out, happens from time to time with this slow Uni internet!

Re: Next England Manager!

someone else is going to be employed who is going to do the same job as mclaren. what i dont understand is that mclaren and sven did/or doing great jobs for their clubs they were/are in charge of. its the case of the team letting everyone down, and not the manager methinks. mclaren is the spacegoat because half of enlgand's players can't care less about playing well for their country. that's my take on things anyway.

Re: Next England Manager!

Same here, The manger is no playing on the pitch, but yet as soon as they lose it all goes to his head, and if they win the team get the praise....

Never do understand that !!

Re: Next England Manager!

Yer but the thing is with last night, we were 2-0 after 13 mins, we needed at least a draw but he didnt change it straight away which he should of because as soon as he did there was a big boost for 20 mins until we scored and then jus sat back which i believe the manager would have said at half time, just play for a draw now lads.

It dont help with a couple of other things either, scott carsons cock up and the pitch was awful, i was sitting there in the stands and the rain was coming down and it was just water logging, when carson was warming up and diving he was skidding miles. Serves wembley right letting the NFL onto it, which there was just no need because i don't think anybody really truely cared about it.

Lets just hope the next manager (whoever that maybe) can do a better job and actually get us to the world cup.

Re: Next England Manager!

I feel sorry for him. He looses a game and he's out. He knows his mistakes and he knows what he has to do. Mistakes are learning curves, so why not keep someone on who has been through it with the team than bring someone in to potentially make the same mistake again?

Can you tell I know nothing about football??

Re: Next England Manager!

But the thing is its not just the one game though. If he couldn't of got us through that group then what chances would we of have, if he were to manager us in the EURO's or world cup?

Allardyce is a good manager but he's too much of a long ball man for me.

Yer i read that.

Martin O'Neill is a good manager but although i hated morinho at chelsea (as i would do being a man u fan LOL) i would like to see him take charge although if i remember him sayin a couple of months back that he wouldn't do this job.

Re: Next England Manager!

It doesn't matter who gets put in charge if the team keep playing like donkeys then the new manager will get the boot too.

Its time the players started playing for the shirt and not money and fame

I do agree with you about the money and fame but in the other way i don't think maclaren was giving them enough spirit he was boring and he wasn't very lifting for the players. We need someone with an uplifting spirit to get the players beliefs back up, as i think they have lost faith in each other. I reckon they should allow ian wright in the dressing room at the beginning and half times to give them a team talk, he has his heart on his sleeve all the time for england lol

Re: Next England Manager!

my music teacher was telling us today that he had betted last night mourinho as the next england manager at 100/1. this looks likely now, and my teacher could be getting a huge return! as i think that he would suit international level mangering as he is intelligent and couldn't care lesss what he says to the players, to get them to get their act together. maybe mclaren was just too nice!

Re: Next England Manager!

i would prefer capello, hes a genius. mourinho is far too big headed and relies on the media too much for his "special" reputation and some of the players in the england squad wont like him for it. i guess hes ruledhim self out anyway. i doubt oneill or alerdyce will try for it becausethere currently at clubs. scolari was tipped for the job a while back but rejected it because the media interfeared to much. like always.

imo the best candidates will be capello or someone like guus hiddink.

Hahaha, best mistype ever!

I don't know too much about Capello, but from the sounds of things, he'd be better than most. "The Special One" would have been great, although I can't understand why he was ever linked to the job, considering he'd said when he left Chelsea that he would like to manage at an international level with Portugal someday, and not England...

Coppell? Please, God, Superman, anyone, make sure this doesn't happen!

For some reason I have a feeling that Harry Redknapp may be considered...not sure whether that's good or bad though...
