One green does seem fairer as more people have a chance to get a (free) green, I think.

Any idea when the conga system will be up again?

It should be up soon! I've pm'ed all current people on congas this afternoon, so will hopefully be within the next week or so, bearing in mind new cognas then have to be set up once people have replied!

Ok, with a 2 green conga more people will complete but ultimately it will go stale.

This depends what people want from the congas - a quick fix or longevity.
People should stop looking at congas as a way of completing a site and rather as just a bit of help for themselves and the community

Nah I reckon 2 green conga's they're actually worth joining, they'll obviously take a little longer then 1 green ones but the point of conga's isn't to get 'quick' greens as such it's to help people get more greens and I reckon 2 greens is ideal for a conga. If you're going for something like an ipod touch on freepay it would be ideal as you could count on 40% of your greens coming from the conga leaving you with only 3 greens needed.

I have to agree with you Scribbler. Although there is the good side of getting 2 greens, within 3-4 signups it will grind to a halt. For the long term I think a single green chain would be better. They are much harder to control though. I mean what if 2 people signup to a new green chain under the same person by accident.

edit: Praj, what if you joined the ipods.freepay conga in 5th place, you would have to wait ages to even get to the top and may not even get there before your time limit expires.

Well that's why the one green option is better, in my opinion.
Every new sign up, the conga is moving and there is no chain building up, and it doesn't discourage new signups.
Bazza is right in saying that if you're the fifth person to sign up, you will have to wait for quite a few people to sign up as well before you are on top. It is the same principle as the five greens conga. And it is the same for all networks.

With only one green, as soon as the green is confirmed by the person on top, the conga is moving on, the second becomes first, and that way, there shouldn't be any chain forming. But to make sure that only one person signs up, maybe the person that wishes to sign up should do it before clicking on the link to let everyone know, and others would just wait for a bit, until the green is confirmed before carrying on (I hope it makes sense).

I also agree with Scribbler; a conga shouldn't be seen as a quick way to get a few greens for nothing. It's not fair on the people down the line, who will wait forever and never get anything.

Yea that's an idea! Perhaps the links shouldn't be in the thread at all. Then when someone decides they want to join, they can post saying so and then a mod can pm them the link of the person at the top. That way only one person can sign up at a time.

For a ONE green conga system, that would work.
It might involve extra work for the mods, though. But it would make sure that everyone has an equal chance to get a green out of the conga.
And no chain!!

Only problem would be that someone could ask for the link, and take a few days to get added whilst someone else could have already went green quicker. I suppose maybe that will just add to the urge to get joined quickly.
