one or two green congas

I don't understand why so many people have voted for a 2 green conga when everyone posting says it should be only 1

Perhaps some of the people who voted 2 should post here and state their reasons. As being current members of Exceem perhaps they think they'll be high up a new conga, but what about a new member who joins the forums and sees a queue of a million people in front of them? Do you think they'll join it?

Conga starts:

1) Person 1 link

Person 2 clicks the link and goes green, person 2 gets added to the bottom of the list, but then person one gets removed and goes to the bottom, so conga now looks like:

1) Person 2 link
2) Person 1 link

Person 3 now joins the conga, so they get added to bottom of the conga and then person 2 gets removed from the top and added to the bottom, conga now looks:

1) Person 1 link
2) Person 3 link
3) Person 2 link

Person 4 now joins the conga, so they get added to bottom of the conga and then person 1 gets removed from the top and added to the bottom, conga now looks:

1) Person 3 link
2) Person 2 link
3) Person 4 link
4) Person 1 link

And so on, so obviously the earlier you join the conga the easier it is to cycle round, but it means that you get an opportunity to get more than one green from the conga, and as people get their items they can be removed from the conga.

Ok, I understand how this system works now, but I still think it is unfair to people down the line. Here is a projection ( if I got it right) by the time number 15 signs up (number of times a person's link appears on top):

As you can see, The link for person 1 appears quite a lot before the one for person 9 appears at all. In the end, the result would be the same. It would take a long time before the link for person 15 would appear, and therefore nobody would be interested.

I understand what you're saying, but as the people get their items they're taken out of the system, So if Person 1 was after a wii, those 9 greens should of got that, and bosh he's gone, wont see him again, add in peoples other methods and hopefullythey wont need to stay in the conga so long.

I'm just trying to suggest a way of making a conga more appealing, a conga is only useful to people who sign up that way, and if it only guarantees you 1 green, then you'd do better signing up under someone in a trade offering money or such like for the green.

the common sense way is to limit the number of people on the conga.

letting the list go huge is not worth it.. limit it to a maximum of 2 people.

the way they are displayed is all wrong, just adding people on to the bottom... when the person from the top goes then everybody moves up and a new space becomes available.

this should instil a bit of urgency in the congas, and hopefully a bit more interest.

Its not feasible to limit people on a conga, unless theres a high "drop off rate" (guess it could be said if the person at the top does'nt update the thread weekly they get knocked off, but people would see that as harsh), as said before in this thread the only sensible way a conga can work is for one green only, cant remember who did the calculations but that says it all.
