Yet another 1-0 win for United. Not exactly breaking the goal bank are they?

A wins a win, we are in fact top of our group and 2nd in the premier league so you can't mock it.

With that result, it would appear we're already through what initially appeared a very tricky group....

Of course I can. You have two of the supposedly best strikers in the world, yet you only score one goal a game.

A WIN IS A WIN don't u get that. U could win 1-0 or u cud win 6-0 it doesnt matter you get the same amount of points. Who do u support anyway?

We did have some good play but we couldn't keep the tempo as roma had a load of people jumping around as if they been shot especially there gk

Ah but you forget that form is temporary, class is permanent.

beside, surely it is the mark of the best strikers that they don't necesseraly score bucketloads of goals, but that they score important goals when they are needed? If you score the goal in a 1-0 win in Europe when you haven't played well then surely that is an important goal?

You underestimate the importance of goal difference. That and you'll wanna be scoring more than one goal when it comes to the knockout stages or it's doubtful you'll get very far.

Hell no. A good striker needs to score many goals not that just one or two when it's important. Scoring is their job.

Yay me! lol, knew they'd win, plus Roma lost their previous game to Inter anyway so they were feeling kinda down for that! Important thing is that Roma didn't score away!

Goal difference only becomes important if we are level on points, which seems unlikely now.

And again, if we don't concede a goal then one is all we need. The knockout stages don't start till next year, i think it's a bit much to suggest that this 1-0 business will continue till then. I have no doubt we will find our groove when we really need.

I don't agree. All you need from a striker is to get you the winning goal. I would have a Rooney getting the important goal that wins the match than Peter Crouch who can score tonnes against lowly opposition like Jamaica but doesn't really deliver in the big games.

Obviously the ideal would be to have both. But at the end of the day why just have striker have to score bucketloads when 1 or two when it matters will do?

If Rooney was doing his job properly half of these goals wouldn't be so important though would they? They'd be routine.

That's arguably a circular argument.

And let's not forget he was out injured from the first game and still needs to get his match sharpnes back, though he is getting there.
