what age did you get your drivers license??

I got mine when I was 17, couldn't wait to start driving! Had to share my mum's car though as I couldn't afford my own.

Been driving for 8+ years now. Now my insurance is coming down to a reasonable level as I over 25 and have full no claims!

*EDIT* I also work for the DVLA and used to work in the bit that issues licences!

is it true that in the theory part of the test, you have to learn everything from that thick book they give you??

It's all really common sense. I had one read through the book before I went into the theory test and came out with full marks. Don't worry about the theory, maybe get some practise with the hazard perception videos though.

Another tip would be if you are in the car with someone else be on the look out for hazards as you are going along.

yeh, its weird, i did the theory the other day, revised the questions well, did well. didnt look at hazard perception once, got 3 marks off the top score. ahahah it is really just common sense. still not passed though.

i was 24 cus i was too lazy and skint to be bothered before that !! but when i found out i was pregnent i thought id better learn to drive .. so i did ! i went to blackpool and did an intensive course started on the sun passed test on the friday , i had had some lessons but they was years ago

Na it isn't easy, took me 3 times to pass. I did get really bad examiners though. The first one was a guy (my instructor told me he knew the guy who took him for his first test and he failed him lol). Apparantly now he doesn't pass many people first time. The second time was a girl who I later found out failed all my friends (one friend was unfortuante enough to get her twice!). She musn't like passing young people at all because we are all very sensible drivers. Got it third time though so I don't complain much about it.

Done my theory and booked my tests for in about 3 weeks, I really hope I pass because my parents are going on holiday soon and I rely on them for providing transport, so it's added pressure to pass first time, but fingers crossed........ (I'm 17 btw)

My tip for passing your driving test is to
1-jump into a time machine
2-travel back to 1988(when i passed my test)
3-take 10 lessons(which only cost £8.50 each)
4-sit your test and answer about 6 questions on the highway code

As you can see when i passed my test you didn't have to worry about all the theory or hazard perception videos bs.
