High Def or Blu-ray?

Which one do you like? High def or Blu-ray? It would be better if reasons are stated.

Re: High Def or Blu-ray?

Blu-Ray.
I got the HD-DVD for the Xbox 360, go into any major retailer and see how many Blu-Ray there are compared to HD-DVD it's like it's not even supported! If there were more titles out then HD would come out on top due to the price difference, they need to sort it out

Blu-Ray.

Many of the major film companies have signed up to Blu-Ray over HD-DVD. There is much more space on the disc which can end up with a much better user-end experience.

Surely the poll should say "HD-DVD or Blu-Ray"? Blu-Ray is Hi-def after all

Re: High Def or Blu-ray?

I have a ps3 and a HD-DVD dive for my 360 and personally i think that the picture on the HD-DVD is slightly better, colours are more vivid, but most of the major film studios are supporting blu-ray and with the amount of ps3 in people's homes i'd probably go for blu-ray because of the lack of HD-DVD players in peoples homes

Re: High Def or Blu-ray?

But Detox has a valid point. Whichever the porn industry uses will become the winning format (Look at VHS & Betmax!) Purely because they have a lot of money to pour into it and as much as everyone denies it everyone loves porn.
But when Beta and VHS were battling it out there were no "consoles" which also played movies so maybe this time round the winner out of xbox/ps will also be the winner out of BR/HD . . . who knows

Re: High Def or Blu-ray?

Personally I think Blu-ray will slowly fade away and HD will win this. Toshiba laptops are all going to use HD DVD drives in all of there models and they have a significant market share.

When will Sony learn?! Betamax..Minidisc. The last format they introduced that was widely accepted was the 3.5" Floppy.

Re: High Def or Blu-ray?

I'm With HD-DVD!
i agree alot will depend on the porn industry.
i hate Sony and their bulling ways...
however i think in the end dual format will make this poll and the "war" a moot point, look at LG etc' both DF readers and DF discs are coming out soon.
also by the time the leader will be clear(and it will never really catch on before then) Internet TV will become more popular with faster broad bands etc'.
