The UK Ireland University Poker Championship is a completely FREE, online Texas Hold 'em No-Limit poker tournament, open exclusively to registered College/University students in the United Kingdom and Ireland .

In May 2009 one student will claim the title of "Best College Poker Player in UK/Ireland 2008/2009."

There are some great prizes for the top winners. If you win the final tournament, you win:

A) Tuition for the 2008-2009 school year in CASH
B) A $12,000 2009 package to the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas!

Eligibility: ANY college or university student enrolled in classes of any kind (graduate included) for the 2008-2009 school year. 18 years or older.

How it works: Beginning in October 2008 we will have 33 weeks of free online qualifying tournaments where the top three finishers from each week will advance to the Online Finals which will be played in May 2009. These freeroll tournaments cost nothing to enter.
The top 99 (Top three from each of the 33 qualifiers) will then play in our final online event. These 99 will play until we have eliminated all but one final player. This player will win a $12,000 package to attend the 2009 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Whether you are an online pro or just starting out, this series is going to be fun and exciting, and with a shot at free tuition from only a final pool of 99 you have some KILLER odds here.

This tournament is completely free and is played at FullTiltPoker.com (woohoo!) this year. So, just download, install, and register on FullTiltPoker.com using the referal link on the page listed above and then fill in the registration form on step 2, and then you are all set to go!

Again, each week the top three from each freeroll will receive a ticket to our online finals May 2009. Keep in mind that each qualifier should technically have at least 3 less players than the tournament before and from experience, the tournaments dwindle in numbers toward the spring, so again, the odds just keep getting better!

The cool part: Only students who sign up through the universitypokerlife.co.uk link can play in these tournaments, so don't worry about freerollers flooding the tournament. Good luck!
