Can I just ask about the newsstand as I really don't understand it!

So they all say they're free, but they're not are they? So what bit is free?! And when do you have to pay? I was going to download a magazine or paper to try it but am worried it'll charge me when I do. (don't quite understand how they can be marked as free!)

You download the app, total film one for example, then once you're in the app it shows you different papers for different days which you then have to buy. So essentially only the app is free.

Only free newspaper app I've found so far is the metro.

But therefore it's not free! I don't see how they can say that they are! It's like downloading a free game, then paying to unlock the "play" option!

Well, not strictly, they are all free however some you get free previews and others you have to either pay per newspaper or to buy a subscription for X many months for the newspaper.

Just get the metro, it's free everyday except weekends.

Oops, having put newsstand in a folder I just tried to open it and it crashed my phone!

Tbh I'm not going to bother, if all I can get is the metro for free then there's no point, I'll just pick one up from the station 2 seconds from work, or read the real news on the free BBC app!

I just think its all a bit of a scam. They need to say '£30pa' or '£2pm' or something instead of 'FREE', which implies you can access the content for free!

Kfchris1 will become famous soon enough
I know what you mean, but they are not going to give you a magazine which has all the hard work and Time/Money spent on for free are they??

Also i have downloaded stuff mag to give it ago and i must say its pritty good. Where as with a mag in your hand its all pictures and words, in an app based mag, you can watch videos, interact with the pictures, it very cool!! I would def recommend it!!

Then don't advertise the product as "Free" then! I have nothing against charging, it's the deception I have a problem with!

(Also, I have seen others say this... we are paying for a magazine that has no paper or production costs, like the hard-copy versions have, therefore they shouldn't fill up the pages with ads!)

<RANT> Wow! You iOS users have to go through so much hassle! There's this app for Android called World Newspapers. The ultimate one. It fetches you all the newspapers from all the countries. And it's free too! Dump your iPhone. Get an Android, get a life! </RANT>

I know some people that have posted before me might have answered it but I want to answer aswell as I made this thread

Basically you download the magazine app and it will go into your newsstand. Once its in there, you click on the app and it will pop up with some prices for subscriptions to that magazine and give details about it. On some of them you get previews of the pages and on others you dont.
