Jake has a spectacular aura about

£10 off at UK2 (Free domains)

Hey,

Don't know if any has seen yet, but Web Hosting, Domain Names and Dedicated Servers | UK2 Web Hosting have a voucher for £10 off at the moment. Public voucher, so can be used as many times as you like (go easy though, they still have to make a living ).

Just type in 'fathersday09' at checkout, and you have £10 off (any domain under £10 will be free). Overall I've had good experiences with UK2 and theyre always giving away vouchers like these.

This expires on 28th of June so be quick.

Jake

Hmmm strange it didn't charge me anything. That was just a .co.uk domain though? Oh well, what's 1p anyway.

The proper invoice came through and confirmed that I didn't have to pay anything, it's probably just because Visa can't for whatever reason put a value of nothing in their security check.

Thanks so much for this

Same charge as usual as far as I'm aware. You can always set it to don't auto renew and manually buy it again if you aren't sure. 24 months for £5.99 I think. You never know, there may even be a 'fathersday11' voucher .

----------

Also, if you buy the hosting package for 1 month you a free domain and a £20/30 adwords voucher (And of course a months hosting).

Jake, do you know where we go to actually choose where the domain points with UK2? I can't actually find it anywhere.

Cheers

Well I found it, but it really sucks!
If you want to redirect your Domain to somewhere else (if you use a different host for example) you must have it inside a Frame with the stupid UK2 banner across the top.

Can't you do a normal 301 redirect with a .htaccess file?

How would that work out? I would put it in my .htaccess file on my host right, not a new one with the new domains?

If your host allows you to host multiple domains, then you can just add the domain to your hosting account where you'll be able to upload the .htaccess.

Yeah, .co.uk is free but I don't want to pay the £7 for .com yet (it's the renewal cost, but the domain is also renewed for an extra year) so was just hoping to redirect it for now. Guess that isn't an option though.
Thanks

No I meant doesn't Vidahost (I assume this is who you are using?) allow you to host more than one domain on one account?

Like I've got 10 domains at the moment on one account, and I can add more to it:

Spoiler

Can't you add another domain to host to your hosting account and then upload the .htaccess there? There shouldn't be anything more to pay if you've already got the domain.
