I'm going to get one of these for my fiancée who is a teacher.

However I don't agree with this getting exploited by people who won't benefit from the info on the memory stick. It's aimed at providing teachers with resources they can use to help in their classroom, not for people who don't want to pay the small amount it costs for a 2GB memory stick.

So what, I'm not meant to express an opinion?

The memory sticks are loaded with useful resources for teachers to use to make their lessons better and make their teaching better.

What's the point in giving them out to people that are just going to delete the info and use the stick? A quick search on Amazon found a 2GB stick for £2.69. Do you really need to get a free one when they're that cheap?

express your opinion all you want.

I want the stick, im not a teacher and i dont care.

If you ask me teachers have pretty cushy jobs anyway, im sure they dont really need memory sticks to help them

Yeah cos getting abuse everyday and having no recourse for action is a cushy job, having kids racially abuse you in the corridor for doing their job is also cushy, having a kid try to punch you in the face for giving them into trouble for throwing a chair at another pupil is a cushy job, and having your car vandalised and being able to do nothing about it is a cushy job, right?

Oh, but of course you'll argue that all the time off they get in the summer more than makes up for it. Course it does, it's the only time they get to have a life without feeling stressed, and working 12 hour days.

we are obviously on different sides of the fence on this one, so lets agree to disagree, I think teachers have a pretty easy ride and you think they are some charitable workforce to be pitted and applauded

I must agree with messyhead on this one.
I've seen the abuse teachers have to put up with.
3 of my teachers left due to nervous breakdowns because of the pupils.
Cars getting vandalised, their windows getting attacked with stones.

A teacher has a never ending battle with disruptive pupils as there will always be a select few in a class every year.
It is a much more stressfull job than sitting in an office where your paperwork might not be in on time.

We obviously are. I'm living in reality, where as you base your views on mis-informed nonsense.

not nonsense, i just dont have the same high opinion of teachers as you.
there are far harder jobs out there. people who go into teaching and complain..........shouldn't go into teaching. But as a profession, it is well paid, short hours, long holidays, state pension, recession proof. But you always hear about the unions moaning about something

Why not? Could you only manage a McDonalds job after leaving school? (I'm assuming that you have left school)

I don't disagree with that. Teaching is not an easy profession, and those that go into it thinking it is are in the job for the wrong reasons.

Short hours? So my fiancée leaving at 6.30 to start at 8am, and working till 8pm (and sometimes later) is short hours?

It's obvious you don't know much about the teaching profession, or know any teachers on a personal level. Otherwise your views would change.

If you don't want to join the debate, then don't. It is a forum.

So i take it you haven't ordered one then?
You really shouldn't have to use that sort of language, would you use it if you were talking to me face to face? i think not.

your swearing sort of contradicts your previous sentiment doesn't it you half-witt

Just to clarify, the statement i made was not a general view on life, as you so think, but a light hearted but blunt, alternate view to messyheads holier than thou stance in this topic.

He has opinion, I have mine, this is a forum, this is how it works!!
Theres no need for the likes of you to try and escalate things into flame wars and chip in with an half thought emotional post to a discussion.
