For students only - Microsoft office

Hey,

this isn't completely free so feel free to take it down if it shouldn't be here.

Microsoft have launched a site called 'the ultimate steal' which is offering microsoft office to students for £38.95 instead of however many hundreds of pounds it usually costs. Think it's there way of trying to stop illegal downloads as its for a reasonable price.

Microsoft presents The Ultimate Steal

It's only available for 14 more days.

All you need is to be a matriculated student and have a valid student email account.

Again, I apologize if this shouldn't be posted here.

cheers

Kev

Re: For students only - Microsoft office

I bought this at the start of term, it's a great bargain. You have the option to download it for that price or pay an extra £9 or so for a dvd backup (which I did). I can't understand why they are closing the offer though?

By "you must have at least 15 hours of scheduled contact time for your course" does that mean your lectures need to cover at least 15 hours in the week?

Don't most courses have at least 15 hrs? I doubt they'd ever check that. Don't know how they could.

When they say students I think they mean University Students who would be using Word etc most of the time. They would bother with College/Secondary School people, because they will probably living under the roofs if their parents who would provide the necessasry softwares.

Just a thought

My course just about stretches 16 hours (and 9 of 'em on a Monday - 9am-12pm, 1pm-7pm!!)

Anyway the reason I asked was that I have an ac.uk email address, and Office 2007 so I don't need to do the offer but I was gonna let the person who needed it most use my address (and the most needy seems to be Dan_Man).

Anyone see a potential problem with doing this?
