Found this as I was looking for information about a X/VISION GeForce 8800GTS card.. and since I am such a kind person I thought I would share it with you.. but if one of you wins, I want one of the cards!

GeForce 8600 GTS Competition Terms and Conditions:

1. The prize consists of 2 Asus 8600 GTS Graphics cards. The total approximate retail value of all prizes awarded is 300 GBP.

2. The Prize will be sent out to all winners within thirty-one (31) days of the draw date and can only be sent to a valid United Kingdom address.

3. The winner may not substitute the prize for its cash equivalent. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any or all of the prizes with any article or service of similar or greater value at its sole discretion.

4. By entering the promotion, entrants agree to be bound by Scan’s privacy policy and consent to the collection and processing of his/her personal information in accordance with Scan’s privacy policy. Scan may use the information you submit to offer you information on other offers or products or services.

5. Only open to residents of the United Kingdom. Employees or agents of the Sponsor or its affiliates, parent, subsidiaries, or the service agencies are ineligible to enter the draw.

6. The competition begins on 23rd April 2007 and ends on 13th June, 2007. The prize draw will take place on 15th June 2007. The winner will be selected randomly by an independent judge from all valid entries received. The winner will be notified within 72 hours of the drawing.

7. Only one entry per person is permitted. Online entries made with multiple e-mail addresses, under multiple identities or through the use of any other device or artifice to enter multiple times will be deemed invalid.

is that to go with your ISA soundcard and 30 pin memory?

Only joking, I am not even sure if an AGP slot offers enough voltage... if you win I would invest in a new board to get the full benefits!

Not sure.. the only GeForce 8600GTS that they are selling on that site is a PCI-E.. so if I would venture a guess it would be no.. but not 100% sure though!

I am about to build myself a SLI PC.. which Motherboard do you have? Did you put it together yourself or bought a PC with it?

i made it. I bought the asus m2n-e sli but i recommend getting the asus m2n-e sli deluxe as it has a better version of nforce. The one on the m2n-e sli has only got nforce 500 which is just a disguised version of nforce 4. The onboard sound isnt all that great either but it is still a good cheap motherboard. i bought it from scan for about £60 so it isnt that expensive for a sli motherboard.

Yeah I have seen them around.. I am actually debating if I am going for the M2N32-SLI Deluxe WIFI-AP or Pro, both is nForce 590 SLI... pro a bit more expensive, but not sure if I will need the WiFi in the future or not.. hmmm

Any suggestions?!?

you can get a decent creative labs sound card for about £20!!

I would get the best memory possible.. Crucial or Kingston.... there are often very good compromises between speed and performance with processors.. I think the intel 6700 dual core has more cache than the faster chips so works harder!! for about a third of the price!!

I tend to build my own machines and enjoy it... I am not a speed demon, but definately have pimped performance!!

only get wifi if you need it. Theres no point in getting a computer with wifi built in if your computer is right next to your router. Also have a look at if the RAM you buy is on the manufactures list. Otherwise ure computer will get errors when you boot the os. I took a risk in buying generic RAM and i did find some that was compatible but a also bought a pair that wasnt compatible. Also AMD is very cheap now. I bought my amd athlon x2 3800+ processor for about £80 in january. Also if u dont like the onboard sound buy a soundcard off ebay. I bought the creative sounblaster live! 24-bit soundcard for £3!
