Sorry to dig up an old thread but does this effect the existing SIM in anyway? I don't want to lose money or screw up my current phone package, just want some free credit on a few unused sims!

I'm sorry to dig it up again but i'd like to know the same. I'm on a normal pay as you go sim card, and just want the free credit. This doesn't harm my sim card in any way does it? Will it change anything?

I would also like to know if it effects the other sim card that you need the number from, will the sim work again in another phone? Or is this a case of throwing it away and not being able to sell it.

EDIT: It must not work anymore, it says 'we are currently having a problem with this short code, please ring blahblah to confirm your upgrade'.

right This does still work by txting to the above numbers.

BUT! if you recive a text back saying please dial 5450 number then you will need to do the following:

To claim your top up reward:
YOU WILL NEED A NEW "FREE" SIM CARD FROM O2 & 2 Mobile Phones to do this.

Put your current sim, into a different hand set to the one you are using.
DIAL 5450 and press 1
Listen to all the info & how much you will get.
Press 2
You will be given a code: WRITE DOWN THE 7 DIGIT NUMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS IS A NEW SIM CARD!!!!!!
Next. Put the NEW SIM CARD into YOUR mobile.
Dial 5450 and press 2
Listen to the instructions and then type the 7 digit code you recieved from the first part.
Next complete the process by regestring your info as requested *YOU WILL NEED TO DO THIS 2GET IT 2WORK)

Replace YOUR SIM as the NEW ONE is now cancelled .. and sit back and wait for the credit.
