err, thats because the race was over by then as it's the rules, lol. That's why it's called "pursuit"

But in the previous race or was it the one before (the Netherlands I believe) the team kept going after being caught. And the riders did so as well in the individual pursuit.

Not sure about the team but even the losers in the individual pursuit can get through if their time is quick enough.

sowwee, I should have been clearer. In the earlier rounds it is only the times that count but I think semi and final can be won by catching your opponent.

In the individual time trials, what exactly are the rules, in some races they seamed to be playing a very slow game of cat and mouse, before starting to sprint, is it a purposefull warm up lap, or just people being extreamly competitive

Do you mean the sprint? Only the last 200 metres is actually timed. The rest is, like you say, cat and mouse.
