| to be honest i wouldn't bother using a debit card online, as if your details get cloned or stolen then there is nothing you can do about it, With a credit card you can claim the money back as most now have charge-back protection. If your card does not have a cvv number then i suggest you contact your bank as your card sounds like a fake! |

| To answer the question that started the thread, this is what PayPal say: To link your card: 1. Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.com 2. Click 'View Limits' on the ‘Account Overview’ page 3. Tick the box next to ‘Receiving Limit per year’ then click 'Lift Limits' 4. Click ‘Link your card’ to add your card. If you have already added the card click ‘Start process to confirm your card’ 5. Click ‘Save and Continue’ When you click ‘Save and Continue’, you authorise PayPal to charge your card. Don’t worry though, you will be reimbursed for the amount. Your card will be charged £1 exactly and we will also send you a unique, randomly generated four digit PayPal code. After two to three days, you should be able to see the PayPal charge on your online card statement. Alternatively you can wait for your next paper statement. You will find the four-digit PayPal code, next to or near the £1 charge on your statement. In the item description, the code will be printed next to the word 'PAYPAL'. Once you have the details from your statement, you can then confirm your card by following these steps: 1. Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.com 2. Click 'Confirm my debit or credit card' in the ‘To Do List’ box 3. Enter your PayPal code 4. Click 'Submit' Please note: * PayPal does not have access to the four-digit code, so we cannot provide it by email or by phone * Any charges will be refunded to your PayPal account balance once your card is confirmed (this may take up to 24 hours to appear) * PayPal strongly discourages calling your bank to get any information regarding the PayPal code
