Got my first Lovefilm 2 4 1 pending. Let see what happens!

I'm going to redesign my site completely, then carry out trials promoting different offers. I can't see Intuit as working as you have to create a website, nor can I see 2 4 1 working.

I'm probably going to push PAYG and the 2 month up front offer. I'm going to heavily emphasise the fact that you can watch unlimited movies online on the Lovefilm website as I think this will help pursuade people that they'll get something from the service.

They wont get pulled if people sign up and complete the offers correctly, we have to ensure that we make it clear what's involved.

Don't say that... my "Free Offers" page will look very bare indeed

I find the bingo cafe offer is good. goes green within a few days. Bingo liner has trouble tracking, therefore having to chase it up an king jackpot is ok too. With these sites you dont need to input any bank details if you dont want to. They deal in Ukash vouchers which i have found alot of people prefer.

We all did that for Lovefilm though. If Intuit feel like they're not making profit or at least even, they could pull the offer.

It happened before but FJ worked very hard to get it back.

Of course this is the worst that can happen, no free trials.

Then maybe we need to offer an incentive to potential sign-ups as i suggested elsewhere. One idea is to contact any Lovefilm signups that you will pay them £5 paypal when they pay their 3rd month or just offer everyone £5 to sign up and go green? Ok, your green would now be worth £12-£17 but if it works........

Yes, we do tell people about the offers but sadly there are too many people that tell people to cancel them, and this is what we have to try and stop by advising them to change their websites or reporting things to the network so they can deal with the situation before Intuit or other free offers get involved.

Exactly. With this move, we're being forced to explain things and drive high quality traffic.

With this news I'm going to redesign my site for the better, rewrite the content of my site for the better and begin to target different keywords which will be less reliant on an incentive website in terms of monetisation.

We'll all have to rethink our content and the quality of the traffic we're driving. Something a lot of people will not have thought about for a long long time.

The change of offers is forcing me to try to increase efficiency of my whole site and fingers crossed I'll be better because of it.

IF in the future another free trial comes along, I'll be in a much stronger position than I am now.

In short, Lovefilm going is the kick up the arse that I needed.

£15 auto top up - and also not on the Lovefilm site, so good to promute the exclusivity aspect!!

STOP PRESS! These pay as you go dvd rental packages are not available through the main Lovefilm site so make sure you sign up through our links.

DVD rental giants Lovefilm continue to lead the pack by being the most innovative and forward-thinking of all the DVD rental service providers.
These fantastic pay as you go DVD rental deals get discs to your door when you want them and come with some enticing extras too.

Works on credits

The Lovefilm Pay As You Go DVD rental system works on a credit basis: buy a bunch of film credits and then, when the mood strikes and you think of a film you want to watch, log into the site and rent the movie or game you want.

It works out as £2 a rental for a DVD or £2.50 if you buy credits that can be used for either DVDs or games.

This is a far more familiar way of renting DVDs and we have to applaud Lovefilm for taking a punt on this, especially as it will likely lead to many users who currently subscribe to their unlimited DVD rental packages downgrading to this potentially cheaper dvd rental option.

Of course, Lovefilm are hoping it will bring back the deserters of the service who found that unlimited DVD rental didn't fit in with their lifestyles.

If you often find that you forget to send back DVDs for weeks at a time or only have time to watch a film occasionally this could also be much more cost effective way to rent.

Free Extras

You'll get a free bonus disc with the cheapest option, a copy of Time Out's '1000 films to change your life' when you buy 6 DVD credits and 2 cinema tickets when you go for DVDs and games.

To get your freebies you just have to register for the PAYG credits and put at least ten discs in your rental list. The extra will be sent out when Lovefilm pay as you go rental have sent out your first disc.

You'll also get a scratch card: there's £500 to be won every day.

It's also worth noting that you're entitled to your money back if you're not satisfied with the Lovefilm pay as you go DVD rental service.

All you need to do is let Lovefilm know that you're unhappy within 7 days of signing up by emailing moneyback@lovefilm.com.

3 PAYG DVD rental deals
Lovefilm pay as you go dvd rental credits expire within 3 months of you buying them and once you've used them up your account will automatically top up again. If you run out before the expiry date you can buy more credits.

It's a shame that Lovefilm have ditched their Non-Auto Top-Up packages - this isn't a truly no-ties DVD rental deal - but automatic top-up is a handy feature which saves fiddling about making multiple transactions so it's not too bad.

icks ... the exclusivity deal is a ****ing good idea. i think that on reflection this isn't as bad as everyone is making out. lets see, but stay creative, so upbeat and im sure at the end of the day everything will work out...

my to do list:
think positive ...
rework and reword the website ...
add in an 'Offers Page' or section describing in detail the various free offers with back round in the company, maybe rss feeds of them as businesses or wiki links / share price links etc to provide assurance
cross fingers ...

For everyone thinking of pushing the PAYG, have you seen this post?

http://www.exceem.co.uk/forums/freeb...tml#post690110

I was thinking the same thing, but apart from that post I've seen no indication that it's going. I hope it's a mistake, but if not then I wouldn't want you to be changing your sites to promote PAYG, then have that go too
