I done a LOVEFiLM offer for 360Giveaway sometime last year, and because I done that I am still on LOVEFiLM's records so I cannot redo the offer for a different network.

What I was wondering is there a certain time period which after they "Forget" about me? In other words if I do the LOVEFiLM offer again now will they notice that I have alrady done it?

I dont think they will simply "forget" you as you're on the computer database. I guess the two options are either to move home and get a new card and try and sign up or simpler to just do another offer. Ok, it might cost you a whopping £10 but thats pennies compared to the value of what you will be getting

lol, all I did was move my current Lovefilm account address to another address( A mates) and then did trial again at current household under a different family members name. Worked fine for me

And so I don't get mis-intrepreted I had the Lovefilm account before I registered on my Freebie site

To be honest i don't think it matters when you had your previous lovefilm account, you still have had 2 - which is against their rules.

Sorry I have missed out on this thread so far, but only just noticed it!

Why do you not test their data protection act? Ask them what information they hold on you, then ask them to remove it (might take a couple of hours on the phone to them but once fully removed (as they need to do by law)) I guess that leaves them with no idea who you are.

Just been informed you can ask them to remove it but they only have to tell you what information is stored. They do not have to remove it.

I tried LOVEFILM a year before I found out about Forfree4u but I was obviously still in their database somewhere as it wouldn't let me sign up anew. I asked them to delete this old account before I started and they did so very graciously. It wasn't breaking t&c as the old account was off a SAINSBURYS christmas voucher. Nonetheless, to be honest I was surprised they were so helpful.

Being a law student I can tell you that you can ask them to remove any information that is one of the following:

1. Not being used for the purposes defined in your user agreement/t&c's etc.
2. incorrect or misleading

Note however the effect of other UK laws - ie. Fraud prevention etc. which over ride the rights of the owner of data. Most companies are required to keep certain information (especiallly about card transactions etc.) for anything between 6 months and 3 years.

If you send them an email, they should tell you all this. They are entitled to ask for an administration fee if you request to view all your information and what it is being used for.

If you're really concerned, you should threaten to report them to the Data Commissioner who deals with breaches of the act (Data Protection Act 1998).

When you click to do the lovefilm offer, can you enter another promo code? Reason I ask is that I have a 1 month free unlimited rentals trial to give to a friend. I figured I could get a green out of this as well!!! But can you enter a different promo code and still get the green?

No, but look in the online freebies for threads with Lovefilm in their title, there's two of them and i can't be bothered looking for you but you can get an extra 6 months of free DVD's after your original 3 week trial. I have just done my first three months and will start my next three months soon.

Top of my list for rentals are Dhoom 2 (not Doom) and Resident Evil Wii!!
