lovefilm offer in different name

Hi,
I was wodering, because I've already done the love film offer for my mac mini giveaway one, I was going to do that offer on 360 giveaway but get my dad to do it for me. Would this work because it would be a different name and address that he signs up to love film with than is on the 360 giveaway account, which is my address.

I would ask Tab about that one as GA and Lovefilm are bound to cross reference their info and see that your accounts have used the Lovefilm offer twice. However it may still be allowed because technically your dad is going to try out the service and it will be his credit card.

Personally I had a scare with my account being put on hold (which Tab very understandingly sorted out) so I now avoid anything that could even be conceived as breaking the T&C's

Always better safe than sorry!

Edit: On second thoughts I don't think they would allow this because it would make it easy for people to simply sign up lots of people themselves and therefore have serious implications for the freebie business model

It wouldnt be me signing him up myself because he wouldn't be a referral. It would be at his house and I'd simply logon to my account and click the complete an offer bit.then hell put in his address and credit card, so surely that would be fine?

This is what's know as a "Walkthrough" referral. It is not allowed on freepay's sites, but I don't know about giveaway. So just double check.

If it were allowed then you would have to logon to your account from a computer other than yours or else you would break the IP address' rule.

But, I still think it would be disallowed simply because otherwise you could join up to all the Giveaway Network sites and never spend a penny. The freebie networks business model can't be based on every single person using a free offer (or free if you cancel) because the companies involved (i.e. Lovefilm) would re-evaluate their offers, as it would be unsustainable?

Hope that makes sense!! Like I say, I think your best bet is to raise a support query or I’m sure Tab will reply to this thread when he see’s it.

I know from personal experience that the Giveaway Network does NOT try to look for reasons to put you on hold but at the end of the day they are a company and they do need to make money. If everyone found a way to complete only free offers, those free offers would dry up, less people would join the sites and it would be a downward spiral from there.

I can't comment on giveaway's stance, but i really disapprove of this kind of thing. It's a kick in the teeth for the company providing the free offers. They provide it a trial. This means that you try it out, see if you like it, then hopefully continue the service. The fact that you've already completed this offer, and know if it is/isn't for you means that you don't need to trial out the service again. If everyone did this, the quality of leads we send companies like lovefilm would be pathetic. If everyone tries the service once, then we give them a fair amount of repeat customers, and they stay happy, and stay with us! And that's what we all want!

Being hostest here - when I did the free trial my dad said he was actually interested in it. He does rent quite a few films anyway so it wouldn't be just signing up for the credit.
When I did the offer i really liked the service and I would have stayed signed up but I didn't really want to be paying out money every month.
