That's a rip off of the Giveaway network, right? Tab needs to pwn whoever did that

(Just noticed...they seem to have hidden all of their details in the whois, so definitely a dodgy one)

i know how u feel mate but as a web designer myself, that is what every one does in the industry to be honest. If you like a website, you right click > view source and read the code, understand it and try to 'tweak' it a bit to make it look yours. I know that it is wrong but this is how it works in real life mate.

Feel srry for u guys.

I can only agree with you in part there, as a web designer I have "pinched" code from other website but this has taken it to a new level

To steal an entire website design is just plain wrong - the design of a website should be an exclusive and unique thing and to steal an entire design is out of order

Re: Tripzero - thieves!

i see quite a few sites with the same layouts as each other now days...
unfortunately, there isn't much yu can do, unless yu threaten then with a copywrite breach, and go through with it if the continue to use the layout?

or are there other approaches?

I wonder if there's a way of intergrating some copyright info?
Do it in a way that's not visable, so that if a breach happens, you can have proof?

Unfortunately, I dont believe there is any real law of copyright attached to website design and html coding

The UK copyright law changed in 2003 to incorporate the Internet but I only think it applies to the actual "copy text" that appears on a website and not the coding or design.

I'm no legal expert but that is my understanding of the law - it is more of an ethical thing that any reputable company doesn't steal coding or web design

I am sure it can but I dont think it is as simple as just placing (c) My Name on the bottom

Don't you have to be registered with the Copyright Licensing Agency and pay to have a copyright license?

This page is about the best info I can find;

Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) : Copyright information : About copyright

Re: Tripzero - thieves!

most probably, but in argue of defence, yu could say that the person still stole the layout with a false copywrite logo.

the person who stole it didn't know if it was legally copywrited?
