If I've read everything right so far then you're giving 20% of a referral's 'credits' to the user that referred them, up to a maximum of 50 credits - I'm giving the user 100% of their referral's first offer and no further credits from the referral. This was with an aim to make congas more worthwhile and to increase the referral rate. Although on my site there is an option to do all the offers yourself to gain your credits it's much more cost-effective to get credits from referrals.

As I've said before on Exceem (about 312 times I think

) my site is about choice and my philosophy on that extends to the freebie market as a whole so even though we're theoretically in competition with one another I wish your site the best... if you're successful then I'm sure there will be a whole pile of sites with the same system as yours springing up soon (in fact, if you're successful I'll modify my own script and set up another site on the items4all network

They do indeed, and i understand the difference now...

We are expecting to change our refferal thing (not to challenge what you have suggested) but because we are still tweaking minor details about the website to see what works best. We could go with the first offer for the sake of conga lines if that meant us getting conga lines made for us however initially we were thinking on roughly the same percentage but a much higher cap, something like up to 500 per single refferal.

Anyway, thats in the future, we have pleanty more plans we are going to put in place before that over the next few days

A bit more "constructive criticism"

The referral method is a bit harsh. I see that clicking on the referral link brings up the signup page directly with the referrers name filled in.
If you click away and try to read about the site, then go back to register, the referrer is gone - so I would imagine since most people will want to know something first they will not get the referral!

Seems, as I said, harsh... and like it would be almost impossible to get referrals without "grooming" people, so signups from links on sites and the like would be extremely unlikely.

Can't you do it with a cookie (like how everyone else, I assume, does it) or by linking ips to referrers when they click the link?

No news as yet. I have now added in a cookie system for refferals, it remembers them for up to 24 hours however if they click on someone elses link within that time, it will switch over to that other person.

I think it would be better if we got 100% of our referrals points on first offer completed instead of 20 on all offers

For what it's worth, I'm with Meads on that one. Maybe 100% of the first one and 10% thereafter up to a cap? Or 50% of those done within the first week? Something to make trading more immediate would be good.
