Suppose that's the price I pay for not reading into the rumours early enough, I was nearly sure it was gonna be iTablet but iPad makes so much more sense

But then again dont want to be wasting money on the wrong name!

I was late to the part and only tried getting one this morning ipad-for-free.co.uk. Nothing there yet, but should have a site online by the end of today.

As for the iPad itself, I think it will take over a share of the netbook market. But I think people will also be reluctant due to the fact they won't have the same freedom to do what they want as they would on a netbook. Have a look at this article for starters;

iPad is iBad for freedom - Free Software Foundation

I think that if a PC manufacturer brought out a tablet PC running Windows 7 or Windows Mobile 7, then the iPad would have some serious competition.

You need a bloody good domain like Welcome to HostPapa to work efficiently. I have ipodfree.co.uk (got it a couple of years back) and it doesn't get me much, albeit it gets me enough like a few hits a day

I've been looking at this all morning and reading the reports. It looks awesome when it was announced and I wanted one immediately. Then I calmed down and read more about what it can't do which kind of became a bit annoying. It won't support flash and it won't do multi-tasking which is a bit annoying if you like looking at flash websites and want to stream some music whilst you're surfing.

Saying that I think it's a beautiful device. People are moaning about the size of the bezel but that has to be there to stop the thumb accidentally triggering the touchscreen. I think they've surpassed themselves with the design of it and once again Jonathan Ive becomes my industrial design hero.

It's going to sell en masse I reckon - the lacklustre feature set isn't going to put anyone off and as soon as the developers start producing apps for it like the iPhone, well, it's going to go stratospheric.

No you don't. You just need good SEO. The domain name itself won't get you traffic.

I totally agree. Disappointing. I really wish they'd have released something small enough, powerful enough, and functional enough to compete with all those crappy windows netbooks on the market. I would have gone for that in a second.

Does it not support flash? That's a bit surprising.

Whatever it doesn't have now it will eventually though. They wouldn't release it with everything now when they can hold some things back for next years model.

dhawbrook is an unknown quantity at this point
I'd decided before the announcement that I wouldn't get one as I didn't see the point. Then I saw it running!! Handheld HD player although bit gutted it's not true HD and only has SD output. Guess that'll be a feature in R2.

Can't really justify one but that's what I said before I got an iPhone and I could not live without that. Such a geek!

I want one now!

I'd love to have this while sitting in bed browsing away or maybe just plug headphones in and watch a movie, it's a great size too.
