You never know, there might be some sort of jailbreaking software which will allow you to run Snow Leopard, or Tiger etc.

EDIT: If you're looking for a iPad-like device which runs a proper operating system, have a look at ModBooks. A bit pricey, but you never know

I have a Macbook Air and to be honest, If I could go back and buy it again I wouldn't I'd go for the Pro.

I was drawn in by it's design and even though I still like it, it's performance is substandard.

Can't stream any videos at all, they just become laggy after a while and you can't watch anything.

It's also really bad at multi-tasking, try to run more than 2/3 programmes at once and it becomes slow and unresponsive.

Even upgrading to Snow Leopard didn't help much. It hasn't put me off macs though, I'm pretty sure my next laptop will be a Macbook Pro, also I didn't pay full price for this one it was about 30% off so it's not too bad. Plus it's been pretty handy for taking to uni, better than lugging around a massive laptop.

That makes no sense at all

that's like saying you don't see the point in any product or in someone releasing another windows laptop because someone else already has released one?

All their products have cheaper and in most cases better alternatives.

Care to elaborate?

Macs are incredibly easy to use, are much more reliable then Windows machines and have almost no viruses.

iPods pretty much built the market for portable MP3 players, and in my opinion, are much better then the Sony/Zen equivalent (although that's partly due to iPods being one of only a few players to support AAC, which most of my iTunes library is in)

iPhones have thousands of apps for every purpose you could think of.

I can see the bad points too. Yes they're expensive. Yes, they can also break, but I don't see how you can see laptops, music players, phones and desktop computers as pointless

I dont see the point in paying so much when you can get something pretty much the same for less.

you don't get similar products to apple.

sure you can get similar specs, and for cheaper, but it won't be the same product. i.e, mac osx and windows etc. are different. or would you class them as the same but one is cheaper?

stop trolling

If it was as simple as that then why is the iPod the most popular music player out there?

Why is the iPhone so successful?

They are more expensive because you pay for the attractive design and simple and intuitive operating systems that work without fuss or complication. These take time (and thus money) to perfect hence the increased price.

I have used other MP3 players which are fiddly and overcomplicated by comparison. And there are so many other phones out there that are horrendous to use.

Yes you can get "an MP3 player" or "phone" for less, but can you get something comparable in terms of looks, usability, and functionality? I don't think so.

It's like saying "I don't see the point in a Ferrari, you can get cheaper cars which will get you from A to B". Completely misses the point and the reason they are successful and desirable.

Surely though that's like saying why buy a Ford Focus when you can have a Nissan Micra? They both do the same job but one costs a lot more than the other and I know what I'd rather been seen in

At the end of the day, people want Free Ipods and thats why we all promote them

damn...the_saint beat me to it, lol

Is it just me, or are the above two statements arguing different points?
Make you're mind up on what you're going to argue, before you start making irrelevant allegations.

I noticed that too, but that it was a bit anal to point it out!

Well I wanted to demonstrate just how useful AS Critical Thinking is

(It appears I should be doing English Language instead, as Milo kindly pointed out my horrific mistake in my previous post!)

It seemed to begin before the name was even flippin announced, I tried a few within seconds and none I had planned were available.

I managed to quickly find 3 I liked which were available so I registered them. Came back later tonight and find them all added to my account but only one has my details on the whois. So looks like two others got there's registered for them before me

One of the people I instantly recognised from eXceem, grrrr. Well at least it means I have one domain so I can focus on how to use it now.
