Re: RSS Feeds

It's already been done - I can remember actually coding the PHP side of this in the past. Got to go out soon, but I'll find the URL to the feed for you later

EDIT: Gone and found it for you eXceem - I Got My Free Item!

Re: RSS Feeds

Sorry for dragging up abit of a old thread, but I need to ask how I can embed the RSS feed into my website. Ive been looking about and not found anything, or maybe im not understanding..

What do I need to use to put the RSS feeds into one of the columns on my website. Something thats resizable to fit into the column if possible ?

THx

Re: RSS Feeds

Sorry for the bump, but I'm trying to add the new posts to the RSS feed in my BT Yahoo Mail. I can add the news feed, but the new posts doesn't appear even though it says I've subscribed to it.

Anyone else been able to add it to Yahoo Mail?

Question

I'm a bit confused by this RSS stuff - I have seen people have the I GOT MY FREE ITEM RSS feed on their websites and quite fancy putting it on mine, but have no idea how to do it...

I saw Jon and Chiggles have a link to a separate page, but how do I put this into my site?

Help this useless web html dude please

I use Wordpress for my freebie site and they have a built in RSS widget, I imagine a quick google search for RSS widget - Google Search RSS Widget will bring up some info on getting it on your site.

The ones I've seen on peoples site had a 'Copy Me' button for the embed html.

I didn't find it straightforward from the links given in the various threads, but after a bit of digging around I found it. Here's the code that you require:

Code:
<!-- SpringWidgets | RSS Reader (#23) | HTML | Generated on 11/19/2008 --><object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowNetworking="all" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" height="318" width="250" id="springwidgets_23" align="middle" data="http://downloads.thespringbox.com/web/wrapper.php?file=RSS Reader.sbw" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0"><param name="allowNetworking" value="all" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="movie" value="http://downloads.thespringbox.com/web/wrapper.php?file=RSS Reader.sbw" /><param name="flashvars" value="param_param=http%3A%2F%2Ffeeds.feedburner.com%2FeXceem-IGotMyFreeItem&param_style_borderColor=0x000000&param_style_brandUrl=&param_compactView=false&param_blurbLength=512" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="bgColor" value="0x000000" /><embed bgColor="0x000000" allowNetworking="all" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" src="http://downloads.thespringbox.com/web/wrapper.php?file=RSS Reader.sbw" flashvars="param_param=http%3A%2F%2Ffeeds.feedburner.com%2FeXceem-IGotMyFreeItem&param_style_borderColor=0x000000&param_style_brandUrl=&param_compactView=false&param_blurbLength=512" quality="high" name="springwidgets_23" wmode="transparent" width="250" height="318" align="middle" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed></object><div style="font:11px/12px arial;width:250px;"><a href="http://www.springwidgets.com/widgets/view/23/?param_param=http%3A%2F%2Ffeeds.feedburner.com%2FeXceem-IGotMyFreeItem&param_style_borderColor=0x000000&param_style_brandUrl=&param_compactView=false&param_blurbLength=512&width=250&height=318" target="_blank" title=""></a></div><div><div style="font-family: arial; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; font-size: 11px; line-height: 12px; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; -x-system-font: none;">Visit the <a href="http://www.springwidgets.com" target="_blank">Widget</a> <a href="http://www.springwidgets.com/widgets" target="_blank">Gallery</a></div></div>

I've now changed mine so that it includes the exceem banner. If you wish to use this version, feel free to copy the code from my website. You can do it via the options button on the widget itself.
