eXceem - XBOC 360 audio / video setup

Hi Guys,

So i got my 360 from freepay, but im having trouble setting the Audio up.

I have a normal TV (non HD) and a surround sound system and want the 360 sound to be delivered via that.

From what i gather i need to plug the Video (yellow wire) RCA into the TV, and then plug the red and white RCAs into the surroundsound system. However these 3 wires are grouped together and when the yellow one is plugged in, the other 2 dont reach the surround sound system!

Does anyone know what i can do to get around this? How has everyone esle set theirs up? I would have though this would be quite a common problem - but cant seem to find much about it online!

Just buy a seperate audio lead for a couple of quid. Or put your stuff closer together!

It cant get any closer really - they dont give you much slack to play with!

What kind of cable do i need to get then? Wont i need some kind of adaptor too?

You can use the original cable just for the video and get a new audio cable (depending on the output sockets on the 360). Or you could just get an audio extension cable (female > male) from Maplins

yeah there isnt any other outputs on the 360. Guess i can get an extension cable... will have to have a look! thans for the advice scribbler.

How have other people set up their system?

the RCA audio ports wont give surround sound (just in case you didnt know).

You'll need the 360 cable that has the optical lead connection to go into your SS system.

Do you mean i wont get dolby surround 5.1 or whatever it is? Yeah i know i would need a toslink cable or something. I just want it to play via my surround sound system!!

Strider is correct,

The two RCA cables provided with the 360 are stereo only, simply buy a seperate optical cable and run that to your surround sound system - problem sorted.

Only problem is that my Surround sound has no digital input
