Best phone for around £100?

I think I'll be selling my DS Lite when I get it as I need a new phone.

I'll have around £100 and I'll need the following features:

MP3 player <---- Essential!
Upgradeable memory (preferably MMC) up to 1GB (or higher if possible)
Bluetooth
Would be good to have a camera but it's not essential

One of those smart phones would be nice but I know nothing about them!

Advice please!

Nokia 6230i << loving it! but i think if you get a memory card more than 512mb, it'll crash, I'm using that and it works fine!
Sony Erikson K750i << mate uses it and said its excellent!

Not sure about others...

do NOT get a nokia. They are officially rubbish. They are built to last about a year. Also 6230 is old school, even if you add an i onto the end it still looks like a 6230. I had a 6230 and it was rubbish to say the least

For around £100 i dont think youll get much in the way of a really good phone but if you go down the carphone warehouse and tell them what you want they will recommend you a phone. Then come home and buy it online

Yeah, the w800i looks amazing. Although what is the actual difference between that and the K750i? Would it be worth trying to find the extra £££ for the w800i?

W800i's are great! If you want one bid on http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sony-Ericsson-...QQcmdZViewItem and get a battery (quite cheap)

Cheers

DONT BE RIDICULOUS!! My dad has had his Nokia for 4 years, the battery lasts for a week still.

They do last - IF YOU CARE FOR THEM!

I agree! I've always had nokia phones. I got an 8310 years ago when they came out and it still works, still use it on the side, same with my 7210. My 6230i is in perfect condition but I've only had it since December so we'll see how it lasts!
It is a good phone! I highly recommend it but its very common too!

i got the 7210 when it just came out, feels like such a waste of £300 now but at the time it was great and it still runs, passed it on to my sister now.

Re: Best phone for around £100?

yeah which nokia does he have though?
the nokia business phones last, but i know of at least 20 nokias that no longer work. I have had 2 and hated both of them. The screens stop working, the buttons go way off etc etc

not worth it. And id appreciate you not contradicting me because your daddy is so super special that his nokia hasnt broken yet. I have always looked after my phones well so enough from you

All my old nokias still work, but I get an upgrade every year. I lived in the same house as someone on a Samsung and I noticed my reception was always a little better, plus my battery lasted longer. I would go for nokia!

Saying that, i wouldnt mind the New Nokia N93 which although is massive, its such a good phone!

I would recommend any Sony Ericsson phone though!

Re: Best phone for around £100?

yeah go for a K750i

good phone, the w800 only has different headphones, looks and you can turn it on as an mp3 player rather than a phone. Also it comes with a bigger memory card, but there are no other differences

You can flash th K750I into a w800i as thay are the exact same hardware and only the firmware is different. Dont know how successful it would be. Google "DaVinchi Phone Flasher" and "Flash K750 to W800". Think you need special cables!

Yeah, I've seen K750i's advertised with W800i software on them.

What do people think of smart phones? The SPV C600 especially. Can you download programs for them? My friend mentioned an a-z style map program, that'd come in handy!

I've got one of those, and been so far so good! Not tried downloading programs for them or anything but in terms of using the internet and stuff my bill's still pretty cheap, good text, video and photo storage space and not really used it for much else! Jon'd probably know more about it cos he's got one as well!
