No Trevor you are not going to hell. Many of us would have done the same, only because its argos though.

How did they make the mistake of sending 12 anyway, you would think someone would notice!! Says a lot about their staff.

the "ebay seller" that made the mistake isn't a lonely guy sitting at home posting stuff out, its a shop that has a website and is making a bit of money on the side likely. (well thats what i like to think )
so my guilt is minimal to say the least.
i will be selling them on and not sending them back anyway...

I dont think there is a right or wrong answer on this one. After messing me about for a month, O2 sent me a replacement phone and didnt bother organising the collection of the fault one so i ended up with 2, and the first wasnt really that faulty - just the earphones!

Its a jusgement call really. I guess if they pay for pastage you could send them back but as a consumer you have rights, and its not your responsibility to fix the screw ups of any retailer even if you benefit from it.

If they were £30 each and he sold 11 (keeping one himself) would have made £330, but as it was a year ago they could of been the £50 plus ones :o, so do the maths - that is A LOT!! The only thing similer which happened to me was the battery cover on the cable tv remote broke so we rang them and they sent a replacement, didnt come to collect the broken one so we have 2 - just had to sticky tape the other so the batterys wouldnt fall out...

Heya, I work for Argos and I know this happens alot. Argos know it happens too. Often things like freeview boxes, toasters etc are all bundled in one box with the catalogue number on. Thing is some people dont know that they need to look inside the box to find the items they just give out the whole ruddy box. Done it myself and gave out 2 deep fat friers instead of one because it was sent down to collection point in one box. Easy mistake..


Also people thinking oh wouldnt you know if a freeview box should be in a smaller box... You dont know its a freeview box. All you get is a ticket with a number on and you find that box down the isle and shelf height. You only know whats inside the box If its something with the image of it on the side of the box.

Easy mistake and Trev you got lucky with that one. Nothing Argos can do about it if they dont spot the problem.

I ordered a hair straightener from argos few days ago, got post today opened it and it wasn't the right one but no complaints, they charged me for the one I ordered and gave me a more expensive one with more features, curling tongs and everything!!

Lol .. something like that happened to my neighbour, but quite a bit more drastic. She bought something from argos and needed to get a refund, so they refunded her money by putting it straight to her bank, and instead of refunding £15.. it was £15,000 .. seriously, it was the craziest thing I've ever heard.

I think in the end it just got taken out or something like that, hmm actually I'm not sure lol!
