Try this!

Focus on the User

Created by Twitter, Facebook, MySpace 'and others' the "Focus On The User" browser plugin uses Google's own algorithm but adds the important factor of gathering it's results from other non-google owned resources!

Quote:
How much better would social search be if Google surfaced results from all across the web? The results speak for themselves. We created a tool that uses Google’s own relevance measure—the ranking of their organic search results—to determine what social content should appear in the areas where Google+ results are currently hardcoded.
I'm certainly going to install it and have a play!

The recent update doesn't bother me, might also affect it when you do your own serp searches

It's something you turn on and off, although I do my serp checks on private browsers.

I think it makes our job as website owners so much harder as we now have to get 'likes' instead of backlinks (not quite that bad, but you get my point!). I hate the social media side of it, mainly because I'm not very good at it!

mrplow is an unknown quantity at this point
I don't know where they're coming from with this really, why do I want my search results full of rubbish from the millions of dumbass twitter/tumblr/myspace accounts that litter the web with useless tat?
Plus a story about a celebrity's tits falling out on a beach is gonna get 300000x more 'likes' than a story about advances in nuclear fusion technology, so surely it amounts to a dumbing down of internet searching?

I think it's down to what people understand, nuclear fusion technology, not sure many would.

LcLive has a spectacular aura about
If I search for 'Cooking', i'd want to see results ACTUALLY relevant. Personally i couldn't care less what Jamie Oliver had for tea, whether he likes or dislikes Big Brother, or when he's having a poo.. :/

He probably wouldn't tell you that tbh but Bear Grills on the other hand would tell you how to cook and eat it. You would get results on this because of the relationship between Jamie Oliver > Cooking > Cooking turds to perfection the Bear Grills Way ...

Not sure I wanna know how to cook a turd but hey, someone in Google thinks you might...
