1) Your site will expand and constantly have fresh content. 2) Each blog post you make can rank for lots of different keywords I read somewhere that 70% of all Google searches are one time searches. I don't remember where I got this figure, and I wouldn't trust it to be entirely accurate, but if you have a blog post that is the following: There is a new iphone case coming out which has flashing lights and a picture of a smiling turnip. This means that you could potentially rank this for: -is a new iphone case flashing -new flashing smiling turnip -coming out picture of flashing turnip (ahem) The more content you have on your site, the more you are likely to benefit from these small extra searches. Make sure to keep the blog content relevant to your theme. This will mean that Google sees your whole website as being relevant to iphones or free iphones etc. If you're struggling for ideas, how about: -People I'd give a free iPhone to, and why -Albums I like to put on my free iPhone -Funny non-music things to use your iPhone for I'm sure you could write at least 100 in each category. Write as much as you can, as long as the content you are providing is readable and provides value to your reader. If you know what spun content is, I'd stay away. The overall aim of Google is to provide quality results. If your site is full of unreadable junk that provides no value, you are not creating something that will rank in the long term as algorithms improve. If you can only write weekly, that is fine. Each time you write, try and write two posts, or three posts, then schedule them to be published throughout the week.

![]() | You didn't understood? My bad english is the guilty one So I'll ask again: my wordpress blog will be separate from my website right? what if I create in my footer something like this: "last publications on blog" and then some rss feeds (don't know if it is called like that) after that... and those links redirect the visitor to my blog. Thanks for your answer

For example: http://yoursite.com http://yoursite.com/blog Do not put your blog as a subdomain (blog.yoursite.com) as this will limit the association Google places between your blog and your site. There will be people on the forum (myself included) that can give you advice on how to install the blog in this place. Last edited by williamblah; 08-01-12 at 05:53 PM..

Go to your hosting cPanel. Click on something called "Fantastico" (if you don't have this PM me) Choose "WordPress" on the left. Click "New Installation" Select your domain. For the subdomain put "blog" < this is important! Choose a username, password, and other details and fill it in. Click on "Install WordPress". You can access the admin panel of your new blog at www.YOURWEBSITE.com/blog/wp-admin To put a link to your blog on your main site, add "www.YOURWEBSITE.com/blog". Feel free to PM me with your actual website address if you want any more help. WordPress is a very popular choice to power the whole site, instead of just the blog. If you are thinking of doing a site redesign soon, you might prefer to install WordPress later and use it for your whole site. If you need help using WordPress, there are loads of resources online. Have a browse of your blog and of the admin panel, you will find lots of it is fairly self-explanatory.

That way I: a) Only have plug ins I actually want b) Don't waste time setting up plug ins that I don't need c) Can get a site up pretty quickly I tend to bash things together and then perfect it later. I used to be a perfectionist but I realised it totally totally stifled my productivity! Although many are more organised than I am and would probably have a list of regular plug ins and favourite themes, so I probably not the person to ask. Anyone else want to chime in with suggestions?
