car woes

Hi guys quick question i have a corsa that when I turn and accelerate it makes a terrible rattling noise but doesnt do it as much when I just turn without accelerating any help?

Took advice, took it there and found it was the CV joints, thought it would be that, the guy wont be back open till Tuesday so just got to hope it holds off till then.

It should be okay.. just drive carefully (ie no sudden/harsh braking or accelerating) and be careful when hitting corners. Ideally try and avoid driving it if possible.. it could be dangerous

Had an incline it was that, i would get it fixed ASAP as it will affect steering and may lock up.

My parents have major car woes. Our family car just has one problem after another constantly. And this is happening over a period of 4 years lol.

ASAP is tuesday, if it happened only last night things should be ok, I am only using it to go to work and back which is mainly a straight run and when I do turn I tend not to need to use the accelerator, especially tomorrow morning, can't see the roads being too busy lol

Well I assume not since he hit the back of the car and it was only a small bump but ever since that it has certainly spiralled down hill. Roll on 2012...and hopefully some greens so I can replace my beloved iPhone...

Yes, yes it was because when he hit the back of your car it placed untold pressure on the front end when you was shunted forward.
This pressure caused a vital component on your drive shaft to fail and needs paying for as part of the insurance settlement.

You had to have it repaired immediately after the crash otherwise the vehicle was useless to you and here is the repair bill. Sir.

On that note, if I win and its proven he is liable, can I then go and claim from his insurance?

Had to reduce the premium I take it?

If you won the case and 100% liability was on his head then your insurance wouldn't be affected. His insurance will cover your damages

But he won't win 100%, it was on a ROUNDABOUT, which means 50/50.

I still think he could possibly do it. However since everyone here is saying most roundabout cases go 50/50, it maybe pointless trying.

Well on that note I am actually quite excited now because I drove past the roundabout today (with full 100% attention to the empty road at 9:00am new years day morning) and saw one of the CCTV cameras pointing down the lane, so I have to wait till either tomorrow or Tuesday and phone them and get the CCTV and show he was in the left. Fingers Crossed.

Good. Hopefully you will set precident so cases are done individually rather than 50/50.

If you're Murdoch, yeah maybe. It's like a cost benefit analysis in the NHS, the money that the insuranced companies soend fighting all the roundabout claims would probably double their bill even if they won more than half the time, it's simply not cost effective to be persuing it. You can spend your own cash bringing a civil case if you fancy, but you're very unlikely to win that based on the previous 50/50 decision that will be taken.
