| Currently: Moderating! | Well I've just "bought" the following: Samsung UE40D6530 - (32" version is about £5-600+) Samsung UE32D5520 - £380+ I have spent a very very long time asking and researching TVs and these came out top. It totally depends on what you want and need but here is my case for the D5520 (as if you don't want 3D then the D5520 is the top end of the non-3D TVs.) Model: Samsung UE32D5520 Cost: I just received this from Kudos for £380 Manufacturer: From personal experience and every sales person I've spoken to Samsung make the best TVs. The SmartHub may not be the easiest to use, but everything else about their TVs are miles above the rest. Freeview: Built in Internet: Built in HDTV: Full 1080p HD Size: 32 inches Pros: Easy set up (get it running in 5 mins) Thin TV - ultra flat against the wall, takes up little room etc Thin bezel - Makes the screen look bigger with a thinner edge Internet - Ethernet or wifi dongle, really useful, well set up and just works! Sound - despite being so thin the TV sound is just brilliant Picture - stunning... literally taken aback by the quality! Ports - more than enough USB, HDMI, Internet, Sound ports at the back Remote - easy to use Cons: Haven't actually found any yet! I guess the downside of the D5520 over the D6530 is that it doesn't have 3D and you can't record straight to an HDD (although if you have a PVR then you're fine!) 32 inch D6530 - Dixons 32 inch D5520 - Dixons Also look at the 37" if you fancy one a bit bigger, but I just got the 32D5520 for my parent fair sized lounge and it's perfect! Feel free to ask me anything else!

| 13/10/2010 - Baby Born!! | How do the LED TV's rate?? Thank you for the good suggestion... Tippy

| Currently: Moderating! | Get LED... No argument there! You get the true black picture (i.e. when there is black on the screen the pixels actually switch off so you get a true black rather than all the colours creating the black look (LCD). And although plasma is good, it's only good on very large screen in the right conditions.

| What to put... | I got this TV for the family for christmas: Samsung 40" Full HD LCD TV LE40D503 Was £323 (inc VAT) at the time and has unfortunately gone up £100. On amazon for £359 Samsung LE40D503 40-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics It's not LED but a LCD tv, you will get more inches for your money but if your not worried about that then i do recommend getting the one MJ10 mentioned, i have the 40" version of the LED TV mentioned in the post above and the quality is outstanding, especially in High def or blu ray.

| Currently: Moderating! | Oh yea, just finished watching the BluRay box set of Harry Potter on the 40" TV and the quality was spectacular! Never thought I'd really notice it, but in the last film when they're "in heaven" or whatever the detail is just incredible! If you can afford it go for the LED and go for the D5520, you won't regret it!

| 13/10/2010 - Baby Born!! | Do you think that 32" is big enough for a tv?? Tippy

| What to put... | Ultimately it depends on the space of the size you have and the size of the room. What do you have now? It depends if it would bother you or not.

| Currently: Moderating! | Depends on your living room space. Look up the viewing angle charts which will tell you optimum distances etc. But for an average living room 32" is plenty. Doesn't look small at my parents place, it just looks really good!

| 13/10/2010 - Baby Born!! | I only have a small living room so i guess the 32" will look big enough, if it looks too small I can always send the one i am getting back and get a bigger sized one... @MJ10 did you buy 3D glasses for your tv if you did, which ones did you get? As if I keep the tv I will need to get a few pairs... Cheers guys for all the advice, You have been such a help... Tippy

| Currently: Moderating! | The 32" should be fine I reckon. The 3D glasses came with the TV package, but the compatible ones are: Samsung SSG-3100GB 3D Active Glasses - I got the Samsung Megamind 3D Starter Pack (2 glasses + 3D film) Just do a quick search as they're the only compatible ones with the D6530 (unfortunately you can't really choose ones you like and have to use these)
