Well, I am just here to drain my thoughts really.

Today has been one of those days where you think "Why did I wake up".

Plus Points:

- Got my 1800 Zetec Engine stripped out of the Escort MK6 ready to be fitted into the Fiesta MK1.

- Got sponsorship off M-Sport for being Junior Champion 2010 in my motorclub.

Negative Points:

- I have spent £550 today.

- I came home on a high to find out my granda may have to undergo an amputation on his foot.

He has had a bad foot for quite some time and has undergone surgery before to have a metal plate and bolt fitted. Leaving an extremely fit 74 year old man unable to walk without a stick and unable to balance - my nan has to lift him out of the chair to "find his feet".

Apparently his foot has gotten worse over the last few days to the point he can walk at all. He was at the hospital today and they have given him some strong tablets which will reduce the chance of operation, but apparently in the next few years an amputation is inevitable.

What has made this whole thing worse is my dad and I have been out most of the day on a real high after the whole sponsorship malarkey and receiving shed loads of M-Sport clothing and he has had to return to the news that his dad might have to have pretty serious surgery. It is one of the few times I have seen my dad with tears of sorrow in his eyes.

So that is my trail of though for the night.

Dan

Sorry to hear about your granddad. Hope no amputation is required, you'll be surprised at how far medicine can advance in just a few years.

Cheers mate. Yeah I suppose you are right. My other granda was diagnosed with cancer 4 Christmasses ago, but thanks to the treatment he received he got the all clear

EDIT - It's all about positive thinking.

Hope everything works out good for him mate, really do.
My mum has been in and out of hospital all her life due to certain conditions and has just had to have a shoulder replacement, 3 weeks ago.

She is so frail in general that we all expected bad results.
She's only 5 1/2 stone, can't walk and very fragile anyway. Needs constant care and help in every day things.

But after this operation she astounded us all in not only finding herself in much less pain than she normally was but even finding a 'second wind' in her life and actually starting to smile again.

Things are looking up for her and we can only put it down to an operation that shouldn't really have made her happier, let alone improve the quality of function of other parts of her body that had nothing to do with the operation.

Dunno what my point is really, but it's along the lines of 'Don't let a little bad news rule everything...', if you see what I mean...

Chin up dude
