New Race Bike Advice Please

Do we have any road race bike people on eXceem? I think there are a few?!

After my accident and my bike being written off I'm looking for a new one.

I have a few possibilities, but if there's anyone on here with some inside info, experience, advice or anything else then please help me pick one!!

Here are the 3 options at the moment:

TREK 1.7 2009

C2C VIA NIRONE 7 ALU XENON COMPACT 2010

Focus Variado Expert Compact 2010

All advice welcome! Thank You

I think you should go for this bad boy :

BIANCHI C2C VIA NIRONE

TBH, I know nothing about road racing bikes.

My doubts about the Bianchi... yes it's a sweet bike, really top notch for a cheap price... BUT the replacement parts are expensive and a friend has had problems with his bottom bracket cracking a long time before it should or other bike do!

But I do love the Bianchi... and the Focus... and the Treck!! ARRGGHHH!!

Just about to phone my cousin who's worked in a bike shop most of his life. Hope he can shed some light, give advice, and maybe a cheeky discount

It will be used for: Short distance commuting (under 10miles), Leisure rides, training rides, keeping fit and hopefully some races when I get my fitness back! So pretty much everything!

test ride test ride and more test ride.... every bike will give you a slightly different position and feel - what sort of budget you got to spend?

Personally I would say go cannondale...

Are you planing to buy used or were you just using the ebay ones as a example?

I was planning on buying used, but that was really only the Trek.

Had a chat with my cousin who gave me some great advice, which I have taken on board and will be buying the....

drum roll

...

FOCUS!

a £950 bike for £595! Really does seem top of the range for my budget (of £600). Plus if I buy from Wiggle I get the 30 day test ride!

99.9% sure I've made the right choice, just need to test ride it now... oh, and pay for it! Especially as I'm not sure how long it will stay at that price!

I would never buy anything that has some form of carbon fibre on it second hand...

That said not a bad price at all, and it has a fair few 105 components

Let us know if you get Haribo (or other free goodies) with a new bike from Wiggle like you sometimes do with other packages

Why never buy second hand carbon?

You don't know how its been treated, or whats happened to it. The bike could well have been in some form of accident and as a result a micro fracture in the carbon fibre which can only be spotted with a x-ray

Ha! Hell no!

You might remember when I first joined eXceem my first freebie was a £275 Amazon Voucher... £250 of that went towards cycling equiptment for my Edinburgh to London cycle! And I already had the bike, pedals, shoes!!

Really want these bad boys:
Crank Brothers Egg Beater 3TI Pedals
Specialized Propero 2010 Helmet
Specialized BG Elite Road Shoes

£200 for a set of pedals I hope they do the pedalling for you at that price.

Do like the Specialized stuff tho, always seems to look good.

Right now I'm trying to find a budget pair of baggies for MTBing. Not an easy task already but made even harder by me being 1) female and 2) fat.

Got a package from Wiggle today with a sachet of "For Goodness Shakes" in it instead of haribo.
