| Currently: Moderating! | Magic Mouse QuestionsOk, so I'm currently deciding what to get as my next gift. I would LOVE to afford an iPad or iPhone 4, but I just don't see that hapening. I currently have 2 greens! So was thinking about the Magic Mouse. Questions: 1: Is it compatable with a PC or Laptop, i.e. anything non-apple? 2: Who has one and is it good? 3: How easy is it to use? 4: Would you recommend it? Many thanks to all replies! John

| iPod 30gb | Im not sure why you would want it on a PC im not sure if any of the cool functions would work. Saying that I have had a play with one on my mates iMac and its pretty cool, however with a macbook pro there is no point for one as the touchpad does the same things and more... It has a very small profile which is good if you will be travelling alot with the mouse as it can slip into small areas. I would recommend for imac, mac mini and mac pro but not anything not apple, until some third party brings out some drivers that allows it to do all the crazy multitouch stuff. |

![]() | I've got the magic mouse for my iMac but when you try to use it on windows (bootcamp) the sensitivity is all over the place. Maybe theres a way to fix this but I haven't really bothered looking into it. On the mac though the magic mouse is great..... I'd really recommend it |

![]() | Another thing John is that you can;t use expose on it without some hacking software which is a nuisance. I use expose all the time with my mighty mouse by squeezing the sides and clicking the ball. I'd switch in an instant if they had that functionality on the magic mouse because the ball on the mighty mouse gets clogged up so damm quickly. P.S. I'm the same - I'm thinking that I need to get a gift like the mouse as I'm not going to get an iPad or iPhone. |

| Mini Mac | I do miss the dashboard and expose functionality of the ol' Mighty Mouse, but I still prefer my Magic Mouse any day of the week. Scrolling is beautiful. To be honest, that's the only touch functionality that I use. A million times better than the Mighty Mouse, whose tracker ball was a constant pain in the backside. I rarely use the swiping for page forward and back (mainly because I forget I can!) Remember if you're on a Mac then you can get MagicPrefs to add functionality for even more gestures (though I've never bothered with this.) My only gripe is battery consumption - a pair of AAs seem to last about 2-3 weeks. Really need to buy some rechargeables but I've never got round to it! |
