Job interview

I've been apply for jobs today and got a phone call within 10 minutes of applying for one of them!

Now it's been about 6-8months since I last went through the horrible process of applying for jobs, and interviews and such! I know all the basics (been in employment for 10years! ) but there's a few things I'd like some advice on!

Here's the company: Clover Advertising

Anything I should do/say to wow them, win them over etc etc

They've gone on about how they want peoples people... and I'm very definitely that! I'm very good at clicking with people straight off! Just really need to know if there's any questions or stuff I should be saying!

Thanks in advance! And hope all that makes sense!

What is the job role ?

uum the only thing I can think of is know what your talking about. For example when I went for my job interview in currys digital they tested me about my knoledge and I smaked it. Every question they asked me I knew the answer to.

Also go to the interview looking smart - NOT SMART CASUAL

And most impoertantly be on time !!

Hope that helped mate !!

have a good read on the company's website see what they are about, and any possible future developments they might be doing. if you walk in and know as much about the company as they do, it will look good on you as they will know you have done your ground work.

Smart goes without saying, as does time management! My train gets in 45mins early!

Been having a read, and get the gist of it. But it's not the best of websites... and I've been seeing alot recently!!

The job role is: "Imediate start: sales/customer service/promotions"

I have said this in a few interview related threads before, but I'll repeat myself.

Be as smart as possible, wear a suit and ties. iron your shirt, shave, polish your shoes.

Also take a smart folder with the job spec (or any information you have), a copy of your CV and a list of about 5 or 6 questions to ask them. "What sort of training will I be given?" "What sort of a person are you looking for?" etc. I always finish with the question "Do you have any reservations about my potential ability to do the job that I can address for you?"

If you have a rapport with the interviewer and you feel it could work you could end with the questions "What sort of a person are you looking for?" Explain why you are that person and end with "Lastly, do you think I am suitable for this job?"

This will only work if it's not too formal.

Don't want to put a downer on it but it looks like a pyramid marketing scheme. What does the company actually do? It doesn't say on the website? I have seen these where they basically get you to go door to door cold selling stuff and you only get paid commission on what you sell.

There's too much about how well the staff have done and not how well they are doing as a company, advertising for other companies.

Have they given you an idea of basic wage, job specs and job roles?

I hope I'm wrong mate but I have seen a fair few of these in my local area. They look like great opportunities but turn out to be the opposite.

Sorry to double post but having just read that I would end with the latter of what I just posted. If there is a sakles/promotions aspect you want to show that you can sell yourself. Asking them if you are suitable will show confidence and this sort of question that forces someone into a response is a good sales technique.

Completely agree with this.
I always end with something like, "based on what you've seen what are my chances?". Obviously phrased better. It puts them on the spot and usually goes down rather well as it shows a confidence.

Having looked at the site, it does look shady lol, no portfolio no talk of any clients they have dealt with and typo's all over the place.

my first impressions tell me not to bother with them.

lol, I know what you mean!

Gunna go along and see anyway... but have an interview straight after with a few other agencies and jobs! This isn't my only choice... but in this day and age (and I'm only able to work until Oct) who can be picky!

"successfully acquiring large volumes of customers and increasing their profit nationwide.
By outsourcing their sales and promotions,"

You will be sat in a call centre cold calling and being told to go forth and multiply by annoyed homeowners who have just sat down to eat their tea

Or looking further at their profiles page, you will be working self employed and have to register your own company and buy some of their clietn base from them, either by directly paying them for the clients or subscribing.

Personally I would steer very clear. You cant afford not to be picky
