I thought I'd post this as a public service announcement to any young drivers who decide to show off to their mates.

When you pull out in front of someone and then give them the finger when they show you they are annoyed, try and make sure you don't get stopped at the next set of traffic lights because said someone will have a nice laugh at you being no farther ahead.

If however it is not possible to avoid being stopping then when you notice the car in front of you is not going to speed up or move out of your way no matter how close you get to them (or how long you beep) get back into the left lane asap. Otherwise the car you pulled out in front of at the roundabout will end up undertaking you stopping you getting in and making you slow down to pull in behind them, back to the same position you would have been in had you not pulled out in front of them in the first place.

But I'm sure your mates were well impressed at your driving skills. Not only that but Mother and I got a good laugh.
