I'll tell you what though, selling on eBay has become a proper hassle nowadays.

(I know our freebie advertising antics ain't helping much and making this post seem quite hypocritical!)

I was looking to sell a few items that were worth quite a bit. I was checking out the completed listings, and pretty much half of them were brought by people with zero feedback and/or are new users.....i.e. scammers from abroad.

I wish eBay had a system whereby there is a cool off period for new buyers where their membership has to be 30 days or older.

It can imagine it getting very annoying. I think using a Buy-It-Now + Pre-Approved way is probably the solution.

check out my auction (remove link if ya want - Sim Cards) if i suspect any scammers i will remove them, but also my Buy-It-Now feature needs immediate payment, tends to throw ppl off who arent interested

So wait up...if the buyer doesn't pay by Paypal straight away, it is continued to be advertised?

Yes, until you have paid the item another user can buy it.. so even if you click on the Buy It Now button and then goes down and have some tea.. when you come back to do the payment someone else might have bought it already!

Seriously, I'm shocked at how much dodgy stuff is going on in eBay. Its impossible to sell without some random scammer on your case

Hehe exactly as tom said. I have a couple of buyers who buy sim cards off me which I know are legit... call it a userbase :P I set up my auction normally as a 5 day, then when 3 days remaining i email these few ppl telling them I'm selling more, and usually a bidding war goes on until one member of the public (or one of these people) clicks the buy it now and pays.. But it is comforting knowing that some random member of the public cant just click buy it now to end my auction
