| iPod 30gb | iPhone insurance....Hi peeps! I haven't been for here for a long time but I have been checking the forums from time to time. Hello to the regulars and hello to the newcomers. Anyway, I got offered a iPhone by carphone warehouse as part of my upgrade as my contract on O2 was about to end next month. I was pleased as punch as it is THE phone to be seen with (depending on who you ask! lol! Obviously the phone itself is expensive and I was recommended to insure it. I took out the insurance by Geeksquad at £11.99 a month (£50 excess for the iPhone if I make a claim) as I got sucked in by the sales staff tactics. However they have gave one month free so why not. I looked on the net and found out that most companies on the net are offering cheap iPhone insurance at £7.19 a month but the excess will be £100 if I make claim. iPhone Insurance - iphone 3g 3gs Insurance, 3 MONTHS FREE Only 23p/day. Talk about being ripped off! Currently I am looking at these guys Gadget Insurance | Cheap Gadget Insurance From Just £2.49 a month - Get Quote. . The excess for the iPhone is £50 if I make a claim, which is the same as Geeksquad's, and the price for the insurance will be £7.99 a month. Has anyone used them and are they any good? I do not want to pay from next month on my current insurance cover and I am asking if anyone knows where I can get a good insurance cover and if they are any good. Thanks for your time! |

![]() | Well screw o2 that's all I can say. I've just bought an iPhone and was thinking about getting insurance. The guy in the shop 'kindly' tried to sell me some but I generally refuse these sort of checkout upsells out of principle. Anyway, I thought I'd take a look at how much it all was and, guess what o2 was the most expensive, according to that site anyway. it just pays to shop around. I'm going to go with JS insurance probably which is nearly a third of what I'm going to pay with o2. Last edited by Emma; 29-06-10 at 05:00 PM.. |

![]() | hello Ammoh, I actually work for London General Insurance and one of our group of companies does do insurance on behelf of phones4u, dial-a-phone and 3. I can say to you for a fact, don't take it out with any online only service. There are many horror stories concerning these companies what with people gettign 2nd hand phones and not even being covered at all. Check out these articles here BBC NEWS | Business | Carphone Warehouse fined £245,000 and BBC NEWS | UK | Warning over mobile phone scam At the end of the day, going with someone who you think you can trust is best. The cheaper ones tend to have a staggering excess which may go up after a claim. If you can get the insurance for the phone at around £11 with a 50 excess that would be a good deal. The actual cost to insurers to replace an Iphone 4 is approx £750. So considering its that expensive, paying a 10er is worth it. If you are in contract do make sure you have unauthorised call cover on it aswell incase anyone runs up your bill as well as stealing it! My personal opinion? Orange is the best, Next day delivery and a £25 excess I believe. Last edited by Fridge03; 29-06-10 at 09:52 PM.. |

![]() | Mine's insured with my bank. Costs £12 per month but I get: 2 iPhones insured, annual travel insurance, identify theft cover, extended warranty on all purchase (believe me this has saved me £100s) and lots of other things I don't use

![]() | I'm with Natwest Advantage Gold. It's only worth it if you use those things, otherwise it's £12 a month you're throwing away But for me, it's brilliant!
