macBook Pro

so im thnking about getting a 13" 2.26 GHz 160 GB low RAM MacBook pro but i had some questions:

1) i know when i bougt my iMac the RAM was incredibally easy to upgrade. google also says that its easy, just remove the bottom panel with a screwdrive, but from experience is it really as easy as it looks?

2) when are apple likly to revamp their current set of Macbook pros? or macbooks for that matter ...

3) the apple site says that each MB Pro can take "there are 2 RAM slots ...... Each memory slot can accept an SDRAM module that meets the following specifications .... 2 or 4 GB" does this mean that you can have an 8GB MBPro?

4) obviously the RAM makes a difference but is there a noticable difference between the 2.26 and 2.53 GHz ?? and do you find the smaller hard drive (160 instead of 250) gets filled up quickly ? theres website reviews, but i trust you guys hand on experience more ...

is the 13" worth it. ive never had a laptop so wouldnt know (i would get a BT from FJ and purchase from John Lewis thus getting a 25% discount, and then would ba claimed under dads VAT records for the company as i do his website building / email correspondance etc) for £625 pounds-ish or wold you get a larger screen?

thats funny. i asked my friend about the macbook sizes today. apparently 13 inch is a good size and the 15 inch doesnt look very good because of speakers.

It's rumoured the macbook range will be updated in june this year so it may be worth waiting a little and seeing what updates they make to the models!

Another thing to consider with waiting till June is if you're a student you can get the 15% discount (you can get that now) and potentially a free iPod.

Not 100% sure they will run the offer again but last year in the run up to "back to school" they were offering a free iPod touch with every macbook/macbook pro/macbook air purchase.

You have to buy the iPod when you buy the mac but they send you a form to let you claim a rebate, so you pretty much get £150 off your macbook if you sell the free iPod

Tbh I think If I've worked it out right the 15% discount +plus free Ipod Touch works out as a better deal anyway.

This is true, just make sure you haven't been rubbing your feet on the carpet and built up static before you touch the RAM, static isn't good for RAM!

RAM on Macbooks is extremely easy to upgrade and can be upgradeable to 8GB RAM. All you have to do is unscrew the back and the RAM is right in front of you. Just clip it out and put the new RAM in.

There is supposed to be a new MBP refresh coming pretty soon, although nobody knows when they'll come out.
